Zora Folley (#8) wins a unanimous decision over Jimmy Young (#1) in 12 close rounds. The early action is very tight, with no clear leader. Young starts to outwork Folley in the 7th, but Young tires and Folley takes over. Young starts to swell under an eye in the 10th, and Folley uses a pinpoint jab and strong right hands to bring home the unanimous decision. Sinan Samil Sam (#12) scores a late knockout over Tommy Martin (#11) in a fight Sam was losing big. Martin drops Sam with a body punch for a flash knockdown as round 1 ends. Martin stuns Sam again early in round 2, but Sam hangs tough this time and fires back in kind. Martin starts to destroy Sam in the 3rd, and Sam is on the run until late in round 4 when Sam blasts Martin into the corner and punishes him with left hooks. Sam runs out of gas by round 6, and Martin cautiously outworks Sam until Sam has a point deducted in round 9 for a wild low blow. Martin seems to be coasting to a win, when Sam suddenly lands a sweet uppercut that almost knocks Martins head off. Martin crumples to the canvas and immediately takes the full count. Amos Johnson (#6) scores a 3rd round TKO over Earnie Shavers (#2) for cuts. Johnson is completely intimidated by Shavers' power early, and Shavers blasts the passive Johnson. After soaking up a beating for 2 rounds, the puffy faced Johnson lands a lonely little left hand that cuts Shavers to the bone and prompts the shocking stoppage. Danny McAlinden (#16) comes from behind to win a unanimous decision over Al Roberts (#7) in 8 rounds. Roberts outboxes McAlinden, but McAlinden's power keeps him in the fight. Roberts tires in the 7th, and McAlinden starts landing right hands, stunning Roberts more than once in the late rounds. McAlinden takes the unanimous decision just barely.
