Rosco Toles (#3) wins a unanimous decision by a wide margin over Danny McAlinden (#5) in 12. Toles completely outclasses McAlinden from the opening bell, and Danny doesn't lay a glove on him until early in round 2 when he staggers Toles with a right hand. Toles recovers and moves well forcing McAlinden to chase him. McAlinden stings Toles again early in the 3rd, but again Toles slips away and jabs McAlinden to pieces when he tries to follow up. McAlinden starts huffing and puffing in round 4, and Toles now easily controls the Irishman. McAlinden is cut in round 6, and except for the occasional right hand, Danny is too tired to reach Toles. Rosco gets McAlinden's cut eye looking puffy by round 8, and McAlinden looks slower and slower. Rosco cruises to the unanimous decision, completely nullifying McAlinden's offense and scoring at will late. Gunboat Smith (#7) wins a close majority decision over Gerald "Tuffy" Griffith (#6) in 12 rounds. Both fighters peck from the outside until late in round 4, Smith lands a pair of smashing right hands that have Griffith retreating into a shell. Smith stings Griffith again early in the 6th, and Griffith backs onto the ropes woozy and staggering. Smith continues to paste Griffith until Tuffy recovers to land some big shots in the 7th. Griffith almost floors Smith with an uppercut and hammers the punched-out Smith in the 8th. Griffith tires badly as the 9th round begins and Smith pounds the now exhausted Griffith. The last few rounds see both fighters gasping for breath as both had never fought a 12 rounder before. Gunboat Smith ekes out a majority decision, 117-111, 114-114 and 115-113. Cleveland Williams (#10) scores a 5th round TKO on cuts over Sunny Jim (#12). Jim has a good 1st round, making Williams miss and countering well, but Williams lands the right hand several times in the 2nd, producing a flash knockdown at the end of the round. Jim pulls it together, backpedalling and countering while Williams pursues. Williams stings Jim, who wobbles again, as the 4th round ends. Jim suffers a cut eye in the barrage, and starts to tire. Williams and the now immobile Jim trade power punches at ring center until the cut eye worsens enough to prompt a stoppage. In the opener, Paul Cavalier (#11) scores a 6th round, one-punch knockout of Tom McMahon (#8) in a slow moving fight. After a tepid start, Cavalier has a good 4th round, working inside on McMahon with hooks to the body. McMahon makes the adjustment in the 5th, and Cavalier's bulling tactics earn him several counter lefts to the mug. Cavalier catches up with McMahon early in the 6th, just levelling him with an uppercut, again on the inside. McMahon tries but just can't get up before the 10 count.
