EBC light heavyweight champion Prince Charles Williams (Chmp) wins a unanimous decision over David Telesco (#1) in 15 rounds. Telesco stings the champion with a straight right in round 1, but he comes back strong in a great exchange in round 2 that electrifies the Japanese crowd. Telesco lands big in the 4th, but Williams lands to the body late in the round slowing the challenger. Williams rips David with hooks upstairs in the 5th, and Telesco goes into defensive mode. Williams hurts Telesco again late in round 6 with a right hand to the body. Williams absolutely dominates the 7th after wobbling David with a right cross. Prince Charles opens up again in the 9th, and Telesco is wobbled and cut on the eyebrow. Telesco lands a low blow in the 10th, but Williams comes right back upstairs with hard hooks. The doctor takes a look in the 11th and Telesco looks worse and worse from the pounding. Telesco barely throws a punch in the 12th, allowing Williams to have his way, mauling and throwing combinations to good effect. In round 13 Williams drops David with a hard right cross, but Telesco is up at 7. Telesco desperately wings wild powerpunches in the 14, and Williams drops Telesco with 12 seconds left in the fight in an eerie turnaround of their last fight. Telesco rises at 9 but Williams takes the unanimous decision going away. Top super middleweight Antwun Echols (#1) dismantles Matthew Barney (#3) with a 9th round TKO. Echols stings the Brit immediately with the right hand, but Barney scores with a hard right hand of his own that wobbles Antwun in the 2nd. Echols comes back strong to hammer Barney for the next 2 rounds. Barney comes close to going down from a big uppercut in the 5th, and Echols looks more and more dominant. Barney rocks Antwun with a right hand in the 8th, but Echols recovers to hammer Barney the last minute of the round. Echols really opens up in the 9th, dropping Matthew with a barrage of punches for a 3 count. After a couple more hard shots Barney goes down for a 9 count, and Echols only lands one more right hand before the referee rescues Barney. Echols takes out yet another contender and no one has amassed 5 wins to claim the second contenders spot for the vacant title. Middleweight Gene "Ace" Armstrong (#13) wins a unanimous decision over Dan Creedon (#15) in 10 rounds. Armstrong outboxes Dan early, but Creedon gets the occasional right hand home. After several dead even rounds, Armstrong sticks and moves beautifully in round 5, making Creedon look slow footed and tired. Even when Creedon backs Gene into a corner in the 6th, he misses every punch until Armstrong spins out of the corner landing a couple hard jabs that start Creedon's nose bleeding. Armstrong smoothly moves and boxes to win the 8th, but Creedon lands a huge right hand that wobbles Ace at the bell. Armstrong recovers to cautiously jab until the final bell. Ace walks away with the unanimous decision. Junior middleweight Sandro Mazzinghi (#3) carves up Andrew Facey (#2), scoring a 7th round cuts TKO. Mazzinghi lands his excellent jab over and over early, and Facey pursues as his eye starts to swell even in round 1. Facey plays defense as Mazzinghi outboxes him in rounds 2 and 3, and Facey suffers a cut eyebrow. Mazzinghi rocks Andrew with a hard uppercut in the 4th, and Facey starts to look gassed by the 5th. Mazzinghi starts throwing and landing the overhand right in round 6, and Facey's cut is reopened and worsened. Mazzinghi lands a couple of hard jabs in the 7th, and the doctor takes a look at Facey's cut stopping the action for Smiley's safety.

EBC heavyweight champion Tommy Farr (Chmp) wins a unanimous decision over Paul Cavalier (#1) in 15 rounds winning his 2nd defense of the EBC strap. Farr skillfully outboxes Cavalier early, but Paul staggers Tommy in almost every round. Farr opens a cut in the 4th with a snapping jab, and Cavalier has most of his attacks smothered. Cavalier staggers Farr in the 6th, but Tommy holds to survive. Tommy controls the action in the middle rounds, and Cavalier is gassed by round 9. Farr takes the 10th, but Cavalier staggers him badly with a right hand that reopens Farr's cut. Farr cautiously protects the cut in the 11th, and Paul can't cut off the ring on the fleet footed Welshman. The cut is closed again by the 13th, and Farr's mastery is evident. He completely outboxes the tired New Yorker late to cement a unanimous decision. Farr defends his title for the Heavyweight Cleveland Williams (#12) scores a 6th round knockout of Jim Maloney (#15) in a barnrurner. Williams roughs Maloney up in the 1st, and it is soon evident that Maloney doesn't have a way to deal with Williams' power. Williams hammers him in the 3rd, finally scoring a knockdown for a 3 count late in the round. Maloney staggers Cleve with a right hand in the 4th, and Jim follows up well in the corner. The action stays in the trenches in the 5th, and Maloney hurts the Texan with a big uppercut. Williams comes back to stagger Maloney with an uppercut in the 6th. Then he lands a clubbing right hand that floors Maloney for the full 10 count. Middleweight Freddie Apostoli (#3) wins a unanimous decision over Jose Basora (#6) in 12 rounds in a real war. Apostoli stagger Basora early, but Jose cuts Apostoli near an eye with a left hook or maybe an elbow. Round 2 sees some furious action, and Basora is wobbled once. In round 3 Apostoli lands an uppercut thrown from the heels that drops Basora for a 7 count. Apostoli absolutely hammers Jose the rest of the round. Basora shakes Freddie up with a hard left hook in the 4th, and Freddie wobbles Jose in the 5th with another hard uppercut. Apostoli pushes his advantage in the 6th, and Basora staggers again from Apostoli's power punches. Apostoli almost puts Basora down with a hard left hook in the 7th. Basora explodes a left hook on the inside that staggers Freddie badly, and the momentum turns to the Puerto Rican. Basora hooks over a lazy jab to reopen Apostoli's cut in the 9th, and the doctor has a look. Apostoli cautiously protects the cut in round 10, but he does land a jab that starts Basora's eye swelling. Basora takes the final round hurting Freddie with a left hook and a head butt, but Freddie takes the unanimous decision. In a battle of perennial heavyweight fringe contenders, Larry Middleton (#23) scores a 9th round TKO over Phil Mercurio (#26) who was bleeding badly at the time of the stoppage. Mercurio is very aggressive in the 1st, but he mostly misses and Middleton counters him repeatedly. Middleton's exceptional defense makes all the difference early, and his sharp counterpunching stings Mercurio. Larry backs Phil into a corner to outwork him on the inside in round 3. The pair trade power shots in the 4th, but Larry is more active. Mercurio slows in the 5th, and Middleton turns it up, working Mercurio upstairs like a speed bag. Phil gets a little desperate in the 6th, landing a low blow that costs him a point and slows Middleton for a couple rounds. Mercurio lands some nice shots in the 7th, but Middleton cuts Phil upstairs with a right cross, and Phil also swells on the same eye. Middleton opens another cut, and the doctor stops the fight because of 2 badly gushing cuts.

Heavyweight Henry Akinwande (#8) fights to a 12 round draw with Gerald "Tuffy" Griffiths (#5) in an ugly rumble that sees referee Ortega issue no less than 15 foul warnings. Griffiths is furious at being made the underdog in this fight, so he tears into Henry in the very first round, stunning him with a left hook to the temple. Akinwande cuts Gerald with a snapping jab in the 2nd, so Tuffy hits him low drawing a warning. Henry starts working the jab in the 3rd, using his longer reach to keep Griffiths, who starts to swell on his cut eye, at bay. Griffiths staggers the Nigerian at the end of round 5 with a hard right cross. Griffiths takes round 7, but there is so much extracurricular activity that the referee issues 2 warnings apiece. Griffiths wobbles him with an uppercut in the 8th, but Henry holds and moves eventually regaining his senses. Griffiths tires badly in the 10th, and Akinwande keeps up the jabbing from outside, showing saavy beyond his years. The action slows way down in the last 2 rounds, though Griffith sustains a hideous cut in the final round from an accidental clash of heads. The final scoring is dead even at 116-115 Akinwande, 116-114 Griffiths and 115-115. A draw. Post fight, Griffiths admits that Akinwande is a good boxer and deserving of his ranking in spite of his inexperience. Light heavyweight Lloyd Marshall (#5) scores a quick one round knockout of Chic Calderwood (#6). After a bit of dead even sparring, Marshall lands a counter left hook that floors Calderwood with a minute left in round 1. Calderwood tries to get up, but he stumbles to the canvas again as the referee reaches the 10 count. Middleweight Paddy Young (#17) scores a surprise one punch knockout of Roland Todd (#14) in round 2 of their tussle. A phone booth war breaks out early, and neither fighter shows any movement at all. Todd's superior power allows him to dictate the pace in the 1st, but Young catches him with an uppercut that Roland never sees. The result is one unconscious Englishman. Young by knockout. Light heavyweight Gerhard Hecht (#13) wins a unanimous decision over Jean Krietz (#12) in 12 rounds. Hecht begins by scoring heavily to the body, and keeping Krietz off of him with an educated jab in the early going. Hecht is winning round 3 when suddenly Krietz lands a nasty hook upstairs that stuns Gerhard and cuts him badly near an eye. The action slows greatly as the cut oozes for the next few rounds, and Hecht becomes defensive minded to protect his eye. In round 6 Krietz hurts his countryman with deadly accurate hook upstairs, and follows up with 2 right hands that leave Hecht stumbling at the bell. They get Hecht's cut closed by round 7, and Hecht begins to work the jab again. Krietz stuns him again in the 8th with an uppercut, but Jean is pretty well gassed by this time. Hecht is in command again by round 10, and Krietz has trouble finding him with anything solid late. Hecht takes the unanimous decision by a sizeable margin.

Cruiserweight champion Saul Montana (Chmp) has a very tough fight defending his crown against Carlos Cruzat (#1) winning a unanimous decision in 15 hard fought rounds. Cruzat takes the 2nd convincingly with a thudding attack, though the biggest damage is caused by a head butt, starting the champion's eye swelling. Montana eats some shots in the 3rd, so he hits Cruzat low and loses a point. Montana lands a couple of hard hooks to the jaw in round 4, and Cruzat feels it. Cruzat has a good 6th round, beating the champ to the punch over and over. Carlos swarms him in the 7th, worsening Saul's eye swelling, but Montana lands a huge uppercut that stops him in his tracks at the end of the round. The middle rounds are very competitive though Montana is a little gun shy because he's protecting the eye. Montana takes the 10th, as the action slows a bit more. Montana hurts Cruzat in the 11th with a sustained body attack. Cruzat comes back with an uppercut that staggers the champ in the 12th. Montana goes all out in the 14th, punishing Cruzat and producing a flash knockdown at the end of the round. Montana stays busier in the final round, and the final scorecards read 144-141 and 143-142 twice for the winner and still champion Saul Montana. Light heavyweight contender Philadelphia Jack O'Brien (#3) wins a unanimous decision over Henry Maske (#4) in 12 tepid rounds. O'Brien's amazing defense has Maske wondering how to score early. Maske gets him to trade in the 3rd, which is a nearly even round. O'Brien hits him low which costs him a point in round 4, but O'Brien's superior boxing skills are evident by this point. Maske has a good 5th round, but O'Brien is just resting a bit. O'Brien's workrate goes back up in the 6th, giving him a close round. The action slows greatly in the 7th, when O'Brien breaks his right hand on the German's noggin. Maske is just too gassed to make a good run late, while O'Brien stays at a distance jabbing until the final bell. O'Brien will need a couple of months to heal and he wants a shot at champion Charles Williams. Light heavyweight Al Gainer (#7) scores an 8th round knockout of rookie Dana Rucker (#10). Gainer completely dominates Rucker early, and Dana hardly lands a punch, he's so concerned with Gainer's excellent power. Rucker fights back hard in the 5th, but it's really just token resistance. Gainer scores a flash knockdown at the end of round 6, and Rucker starts to look like he's ready to go at any time. Gainer gets him down twice in round 8, working the right, and the second time Rucker can't beat the count. Junior middleweight Mamadou Thiam (#4) wins a unanimous decision over Pablo Baez (#5) in 10 rounds. This fight doesn't get started until round 2, when each man has his moments on offense. Thiam staggers Baez in round 3, but Pablo comes back to make the round nearly even. Thiam picks his shots in the 4th, flooring Baez with a right hand for a 5 count, but little else happens in the round. Baez comes back strongly in round 5, wobbling Mamadou with a 3 punch combo, and just pasting him upstairs until Thiam is cut and stumbling. The 8th is dead even, and the scoring is really close overall though it's Thiam who shows a large swelling on the eye. Thiam wins the 9th big, but Baez reopens the cut setting up the final round which Thiam takes with a few good shots upstairs. Thiam takes the unanimous decision to win his 2nd fight.

In a shockingly sudden turnaround, Albert "Buck" Crouse (#7) scores a clean knockout of middleweight champion Harry Greb (Chmp) in round 6 of their tussle. Greb roughs up Crouse early, and the young fighter doesn't have the experience to know what to do. Buck occasionally lands a hard right hand, but Greb's hyper-active assault wins him every round until Crouse wobbles Greb and breaks his nose with a series of uppercuts in round 4. Crouse starts Greb's eye swelling in round 5, though the latter wins the round with more activity. Early in round 6, Crouse lands an uppercut as Greb moves in that drops Harry who shockingly cannot beat the count. Young Albert "Buck" Crouse becomes the EBC middleweight champion in his 4th fight. Former EBC heavyweight champion Jimmy Young (#4) wins a unanimous decision over Reggie Meen (#18) in 12 rounds to continue his comeback. Young completely outclasses Meen early, and his amazing hand speed makes Meen look like a fighter 20 years older. Meen lands a jab that cuts Young near an eye in the 3rd, but Jimmy punishes him for it. Meen lands a flush right hand in the 4th, but Jimmy shakes it off to land repeatedly and take the round. Young continues to rack up the rounds as his eyebrow spritzes blood in the middle rounds. They finally get it closed before the 7th, and Meen conks out so Young sticks and moves. Meen reopens the cut in the 8th, but Jimmy still takes the round. Meen gets very aggressive in the 9th, but Jimmy's never really in trouble. Young clinches while flurrying between late to seal the unanimous decision victory. Cruiserweight Jean-Marc Mormeck (#3) wins a unanimous decision from young Kenny Keene (#4) in 10 rounds. Keene outworks Mormeck early, and Jean-Marc is content to counter and wait for a big shot. Mormeck gets his chance in the 3rd when he lands a big uppercut that drops Keene for a 4 count. Mormeck continues to stagger the youngster on the inside in round 4. The pair trade at ring center in the 5th, and Mormeck imposes his will with the right hand and some well timed shoves. Mormeck lands heavily on Keene in round 6, but Keene drops a solid right hand that staggers Jean-Marc at the end of the round. Keene holds his own late, but Mormeck's hard punches win the unanimous decision for him. Heavyweight Scott Frank wins a close unanimous decision over Don Eagle in 10 rounds. Frank looks undertrained coming in, but it hardly matters as he outguns the green Eagle easily early. Eagle starts to make a fight of it in the 3rd, but Frank still wins the round. Late in the 4th, Frank lands a wicked cross to the head and Eagle goes down for a 7 count. The action goes in side in the 6th and Eagle wins the round with uppercuts and clinches. The pace slows the way only 2 tired heavyweights can slow the pace. Eagle flurries in the final 2 rounds, finding energy from somewhere, but Frank barely hangs on for a unanimous decision win 95-94 twice and 96-93.

Former EBC heavyweight champion Zora Folley (#2) wins a unanimous decision over Rosco Toles (#3) in 12 rounds. Folley starts winging the hook right away, and Toles is stunned twice in the opening frame. Folley continues to play slugger against the quicker Toles, and Rosco is hurt badly by left hooks on the inside in round 2. Toles has an eye start to puff up in the 3rd, and Folley moves inside for a couple rounds. Folley lands a perfect counter left hook that puts Toles down for a 9 count half way through round 6. Toles recovers and starts pumping the jab in the 7th. The pace increases in round 8 when Toles is getting desperate, but Folley works the body to great effect to win the round. Folley lands a short right hand that floors Toles again in round 9 for a 5 count. Folley blasts away and Toles' eye completely closes by the end of the round. Folley roughs him up on the inside in the 10th and Toles looks slow and used up. Folley staggers Rosco again with a 3 punch combination in the 11th, and the doctor takes a look at Rosco's eye. The last round has very little action and Folley takes the unanimous decision by a wide margin. Toles takes on both former champs in 2 months and it's too much for him this time, while Folley is back near the top of the rankings. In a battle of top middleweight contenders Tiger Flowers (#1) wins a 10 round unanimous decision over Young Stuhley (#2) after a scare from a hideous cut. It's a deadly dull matchup of cautious counterpunchers, and no one lands a hard punch until Flowers gets home a solid hook as round 2 ends. Stuhley gets aggressive in the 3rd and Flowers suffers a bad gash under an eye from a hard hook. The sight of a river of his own blood shakes Flowers to the core and Stuhley dominates the next few rounds while Flowers wipes the blood away. They get the cut closed before round 5, and Flowers resumes beating Stuhley to the punch from the outside. Stuhley takes the 7th, while Flowers rests, and he hurts Tiger with a couple nice uppercuts in the 8th. Flowers convincingly outworks Stuhley in the 10th and he takes the unanimous decision 96-94 all around. Light heavyweight Jorge Ahumada (#8) wins a unanimous decision from Tommy Dragon (#15) in 10 rounds. Both men try to end it early, and the crowd comes to it's feet when the action peaks in the last 30 seconds of round 1. Disappointingly, the action slows to a crawl after that and Dragon works the angles better than Jorge for the next couple of rounds. Dragon tires by round 5 and Ahumada takes command, landing hard shots to the body. Dragon steals the 8th round with a late flurry, but Ahumada lands a stunning right cross that floors Tommy early in round 9. Dragon barely beats the count, and gets on his bicycle until the end of the round. Ahumada has a big rally in the final round, but Dragon is standing at the final bell. Jorge takes the unanimous decision. Light heavyweight Mel Brown (#11) scores a knockout of Mosese Sorovi (#14) in round 4 of their match. Brown, a ponderously slow slugger, stuns Sorovi right out of the chute with a hard hook, but Sorovi's better hand speed keeps Brown at bay. Sorovi takes it to Brown sticking and moving in the 2nd and 3rd, and Brown is too slow of foot to cut off the ring. Sorovi is hooking off the jab in the 4th, when Brown lands one of his slow motion right hands that hits Sorovi like a bus going 50 miles per hour. Sorovi goes down, and though he tries he cannot beat the count.
