Heavyweight Cleveland Williams (#8) scores a 6th round knockout of Franco Cavicchi (#10) in a battle of ponderous sluggers. Right after he lands a low blow, Williams lands a crushing right hand followed by a series of uppercuts in the 2nd. Cavicchi fights back well in the 3rd and 4th, but Williams takes command with big shots in the 5th that stagger the italian. Williams drops Cavicchi in the 6th with a body shot and Franco cannot beat the count.......Cruiserweight Jean-Marc Mormeck (#2) scores an 8th round knockout over Yosukezan Nishijima (#7), getting up from 2 knockdowns to do it. Mormeck outworks Nishijima from the opening bell, and Yosukezan goes down from a right hand in the 2nd. Mormeck continues to pound the japanese in the 3rd and soon his eye starts to puff up. Early in the 4th Nishijima lands a wild sweeping right hand that floors Mormeck for a 4 count. Mormeck again tastes the canvas for a 4 count from a viscious body shot at the bell. Mormeck pulls it together to hurt Nishijima in the 5th, but Yosukezan staggers him with a right cross late in the round. Mormeck tees off in the 7th, and Nishijima looks finished after the round. Jean-Marc switches his attack to the body in the 8th, and Nishijima goes down twice, staying down the second time.......Light heavyweight Tommy Loughran (#12) dominates Leeonzer Barber (#11) winning a 10 round unanimous decision. Loughran completely outclasses Barber, who sports a swelling by round 3 from Tommy's lightning quick punches. Barber fights back well in rounds 5 and 6, but the eye is nearly closed at the end of round 7. Loughran continues to pump the jab late and he takes the near shutout unanimous decision........ Middleweight Jeff Smith (#16) wins a unanimous decision over George Benton (#13) in a cut shortened battle of 6 rounds. Smith does some nice work early, though Benton keeps a comparable pace. Benton is cut badly on an his forehead late in the 4th with an unintentional head butt, and the doctor takes a look. Smith wings shots from the outside in the middle rounds while Benton cautiously protects his damaged eye. The fighters bang heads again late in the 6th, and the doctor stops the fight. Because of the butt the scorecards are consulted and Smith takes the unanimous decision.

Heavyweight Gerald "Tuffy" Griffiths (#5) scores a brutal TKO of Sinan Samil Sam (#4) in 1 round, to reverse a loss to Sam last year. Griffiths looks to come out fast, and he catches Sam with a huge right hand 10 seconds in. Griffiths swarms Sam with power punches until he sags against the ropes and the referee rescues the turk with 4 seconds remaining in the 1st......Heavyweight Gunboat Smith barely holds on to win a majority decision over Al McCoy in 10 rounds. McCoy keeps the wildly swinging Smith at bay in the 1st, but Gunboat lands a hard uppercut that tips the 2nd round his way. Smith wins the 5th, punctuating the round with a right hand that almost puts McCoy down at the bell. Smith cuts McCoy with a hard right to the nose in round 6, and McCoy wipes his nose while Smith tees off. McCoy wilts in the 7th, and Smith aggressively keeps him off balance. McCoy lands a lucky body shot that drops Smith for a 6 count early in the 10th. Smith covers up while McCoy gives his all, and both men are standing at the final bell. Smith takes the surprisingly close majority decision 97-93, 95-94 for Smith and 95-95....... Junior middleweights Michael Lerma (#3) and Guillermo Jones (#4) fight to a majority draw in a cut shortened contest. Lerma suffers a bad cut from an unintentional butt early in the 1st, but both men fight hard resulting in an even opening round. Jones targets the cut, and Lerma continues to bleed in the 2nd, and Lerma's effectiveness is greatly reduced. The corner gets Michael's cut closed before round 3, and Lerma punishes the suddenly arm-weary Jones. Both men trade bombs in the 4th, but neither man blinks. The cut is further worsened in the 5th, and the referee stops the contest. Since the cut was caused by a head-butt the scorecards are consulted and the fight is declared a majority draw....... Welterweight Tommy Freeman (#10) wins a majority decision over stubborn Stephane Ouellet (#12) in 10 rounds. Freeman looks great in the 1st, outclassing Ouellet with his fast hands, but Freeman suffers a butt in a clinch that starts his eye swelling. Ouellet slows the action for a couple of rounds, but Freeman lands a thudding shot in the 3rd. Freeman uses his great jab to keep Ouellet at a distance and pile up the points in the 4th. Stephane lands a hard right cross that further damages Freeman's eye, but Tommy flurries at the end of round 5 to take the round. By round 6 Freeman is having trouble seeing so the jab that was so accurate earlier starts to miss while giving Ouellet openings. Freeman staggers him with a hook upstairs in the 7th, and Ouellet looks tired. Freeman outworks the canadian soundly late, and Stephane breaks his right hand in the 9th. Ouellet flurries throwing only the left in the final round, and the scoring is incredibly 97-93 twice for Freeman and 95-95 even for a majority decision.

Light heavyweight contender Lloyd Marshall (#4) wins a unanimous decision over Jorge Ahumada (#6) in 12 fast-paced rounds. Marshall nails Ahumada with hard shots right away, but Ahumada fires back producing an amazing little series in the opening round. Marshall takes the 2nd with his aggression, but Ahumada lands a crushing right hand at the bell. Ahumada lands plenty of hooks in the 3rd and the pace remains frantic. Marshall lands a thudding right hand that causes Ahumada to hang on in round 5. Ahumada starts to fade in the 6th, and Marshall lands even more regularly. The 7th is marked by a great exchange that leaves Ahumada with a cut eyebrow. Marshall keeps Jorge off balance in the 10th, cautiously jabbing while remaining an impossible target. Ahumada gets a hard shot home in the 11th and Marshall shudders back to a corner bleeding, where he desperately hits Ahumada low before Jorge lays it on him costing Lloyd a point. The doctor takes a look at Ahumada early in the 12th, and then Marshall immediately floors Jorge with an uppercut when the action resumes. Ahumada is up at 3, but Marshall fires and fires until the final bell. Marshall takes the unanimous decision that is closer than the fight was......Light heavyweight Henry Maske wins a unanimous decision over Gerhard Hecht in a matchup of fellow germans. Maske is the far better technician, and he cautiously outworks Hecht early. Hecht gets aggressive in the 4th, and a nice action packed round ensues. Hecht has a great rally in the 8th, when Maske apparently needs a break. Maske starts holding and fouling, with little shots in between to take the 9th. Hecht wilts and Maske starts to have his way uncontested, peppering Hecht with combinations in the 10th. The final 2 rounds are a sleepwalk, and Maske takes the unanimous decision by a wide margin.......Heavyweight Earnie Shavers (#15) scores a brutal 7th round knockout of Lawrence Carter (#17). Shavers hammers Carter with uppercuts and right hands in the 1st. Carter has a rally in the 3rd, but Shavers gets a big right home at the end of the round. Shavers hammers Carter again with right hands in the 4th, and Carter's lip splits wide open. Carter has a great 5th round, staggering Earnie with a right hand, but Shavers fights back to make the round close. Shavers retakes the momentum in the 6th, and Carter looks exhausted. Shavers has a point taken away for rabbit punching in the 7th, so he immediately drops Carter with a crushing right hand. Carter makes no attempt to rise and Shavers notches another knockout.......Middleweight Jock McAvoy (#17) scores a 6th round knockout of brave Nate Collins (#12). 10 seconds in, McAvoy lands an uppercut that Collins never even sees. Nate goes down for a 6 count, and looks out of it when he rises. McAvoy goes to the body, to drop Nate again about a minute later. He gets up at 8, but his legs are gone, and McAvoy starts to pound him unmercifully. Collins fights back well in the close 2nd round, but he still looks shaken. Collins wobbles Jock with a straight right hand counter early in the 3rd, and suddenly it's all Collins. Nate nails McAvoy with a hard cross early in the 4th, but McAvoy comes back with a right cross of his own that floors Nate for an 8 count. McAvoy gets Collins down with an uppercut early in round 6, and though Nate gets up he's all but finished. McAvoy sets up the right hand with a jab, then drops Nate for the full count late in the 6th.....

Prince Charles Williams (Chmp) defends his EBC light heavyweight championship, fighting to a majority draw with Joe Knight (#2) in 15 rounds. The early action is very close with Knight leading the dance while Chuck lands a couple thudding shots each round. Prince Chuck backs Knight into the corner and hammers away upstairs while Knight tries to counter in the 4th. Knight takes some of the starch out of Williams with a short left hook on the inside that staggers Chuck in the 5th. Charles has a nice rally in the 6th, and Knight staggers at the bell. Knight does some nice fast combination punching to take the 7th. Knight is masterful in the 9th, and Williams looks winded from pursuing the shifty georgian. Williams lands a huge left hook that gets Knight rocky and swollen in the 10th, and Williams presses his advantage aggressively. Round 12 is great with Williams carving up Knight in the corner before Knight lands a huge body shot that slows Chuck. Knight dominates the 14th and he lands a straight right hand that wobbles Charles and puffs up Williams' eye. Knight jabs open a cut on Williams' eye in the final round and the final result is a majority draw 143-143, 143-143 and 145-140 for Williams. Williams successfully defends his title from the man he won it from....... In another rematch, cruiserweight Carlos Cruzat (#1) survives a late scare to win a unanimous decision over Marvin Camel (#5) in 12 rounds, his second decision over the native american slugger. Camel comes out swinging and he lands some nice right hands while Cruzat warms up. Carlos does a great job working the body in the 3rd, and he staggers Marvin with an uppercut late in the round puffing up Camel's eye. Camel returns fire in the 4th, and the crowd comes to it's feet after a torrid exchange. Cruzat staggers Camel again in the 5th, and Camel desperately fights back. Camel's eye worsens and he can barely keep his gloves up in the 6th, and Cruzat takes advantage throwing swarming combinations. Camel rallies in the 7th, but Cruzat punishes Marvin in the 8th, with hard shots upstairs. Camel is greatly hampered by the now nearly closed eye, and Carlos knocks him down briefly in the 10th, with a hard uppercut. Camel rallies in the 11th, and incredibly drops Cruzat with a body shot in the final round. Cruzat gets up to finish on his feet and capture the unanimous decision, a surprisingly close 114-113, 115-112 and 115-112....... Middleweight Gene "Ace" Armstrong (#6) wins a unanimous decision over slugger Billy Angelo (#9) in 10 entertaining rounds. Angelo repeatedly stuns Armstrong with right hands early, and Armstrong's defense is completely ineffectual. Round 3 is close when Armstrong finally wakes up, but Angelos punches raise a swelling on Armstrong's right eye. Gene gets on his toes snapping the jab, and forces Angelo to pursue, while trying to protect his eye. Gene's hand speed is evident in the 6th, and Angelo eats many shots before he stuns Gene at the bell with an uppercut. Angelo catches Armstrong with a right that cuts Gene in the 7th, and Gene is forced to plant his feet to trade again producing an action packed round. Armstrong catches Billy with a left hook in the 9th, and now Angelo starts to bleed over an eye. The final round Armstrong tees off on the exhausted Angelo, and Gene takes the unanimous decision...... Super middleweights Steve Little (#3) and Darryl Salmon (#6) fight to a 10 round draw. After a feeling out round, the fireworks start in the 2nd with each man getting home some nice shots. Little looks great in the 4th, counterpunching Salmon to pieces and cutting him on an eyebrow. Salmon cuts Little on his eyebrow the very next round, and each man is soon very bloody. The action moves inside in the 6th, and each man trades fouls and warnings while Little lands some combinations. Salmon fades by the 7th, and he continues to bleed, while Little's cut is closed. Salmon rallies in the 8th, and 9th, and he reopens Little's cut in the final round keeping Steve busy wiping blood instead of punching. The final decision is a majority draw.

Heavyweights Jimmy Young (#3) and Zora Folley (#1) fight to a 10 round draw. Young looks amazing early, crisply counterpunching while blocking and holding alternately. Folley gets on his toes to sharpshoot the jab in round 3, preventing Young from holding by staying on the outside. Folley stuns Jimmy with a straight right hand in round 4, and Young goes into a shell. Jimmy recovers to out-jab Folley in the 5th. Young is winning the 6th when suddenly Folley unleashes a big right that sends Young staggering to the corner at the bell. Young recovers well to take the 7th, but Folley again wobbles him at the bell. Both fighters look faded in a listless 8th round, but the guns come out in the 9th, with Folley landing a couple of big shots. It's all Folley in the final round, and the final scoring is a draw 96-95, 95-96 and 96-96.......Top middleweight contender Tiger Flowers (#1) wins a unanimous decision in his rematch with James Toney (#5) in 10 rounds. Toney staggers Flowers with a right hand in the first 10 seconds, but Flowers goes into defensive mode and James never touches him again in the round. Most of the early rounds are close with a minimum of action, though James lands at least 1 flush shot every round. Toney is warned for a low blow in the 5th, but it doesn't seem to affect Tiger who lets loose with the jab. Flowers remains very aggressive in the next round, and Toney retreats to a corner while eating quick combinations. Toney looks tired by the 7th, so Flowers starts following the jab with right hands and Toney wobbles. Flowers hammers Toney late including a couple of low blows for which he is warned, and Tiger also has a point deducted in round 10 for a dubious head butt. In spite of that, Flowers takes the unanimous decision by a wide margin. Flowers solidifies his hold on the #1 contender spot while Toney loses his 3rd fight in a row....... Heavyweight Art Weigand (#27) scores a 4th round knockout of aussie George Stirling (#18) in a short one. Round 2 is a beauty with Weigand staggering Stirling with an uppercut, then George fighting back hard out of the corner. Weigand lands another big bomb in the 3rd and Stirling starts to fight while moving backwards. Early in the 4th Weigand lands a perfect counter right over a lazy jab, that sends Stirling sprawling to the canvas for the full count of 10.......Super middleweight Bryant Brannon (#4) reverses a TKO loss to Mikkel Kessler (#5), winning a unanimous decision in 10 rounds this time. The trading begins in round 2, and Kessler blinks first going down from a Brannon left hook for a flash knockdown. In a great round 3 Brannon backs Mikkel into a corner and rakes him with heavy punches to the body. Kessler responds with a hard hook upstairs, then Brannon lands an uppercut that drops Kessler for a 6 count. Kessler is badly weakened in the 4th, and Brannon cautiously stays outside pecking and waiting for an opening. Brannon opens up in the 5th, and the dane takes a pounding upstairs. Kessler catches Brannon with a 3 punch combination that staggers Bryant in the 7th. Kessler tries to be aggressive late, but Brannon is masterful with his footwork and jab. Brannon opens up in the final round, raising a swelling on Kessler's eye, and it cements the unanimous decision victory for Bryant Brannon. Brannon will face Antwun Echols for the vacant EBC super middleweight crown in January.
