Light heavyweight Joe Knight (Chmp) successfully defends his EBC championship, scoring a TKO of game Prentiss Hall (#7) in 11 rounds. In the first several rounds Knight cautiously jabs while circling, and Hall has a tough go figuring out the slippery Georgian. Knight lands a snapping uppercut on the inside that has Hall covering up in round 5. Knight really has Hall on the run in the 6th, and Hall shows a swelling on his left eye. Knight becomes cautious again when Hall's eye almost closes in the 7th. Knight explodes a big hook on the tired New Yorker and he goes down for an 8 count. Knight throws some hurried and sloppy combinations that produce another flash knockdown, and one more barrage prompts the ref to stop the fight. Knight defends the EBC light heavyweight title in his first defense. Top middleweight contender Harry Greb (#1) scores a very impressive TKO of Roland Todd (#2) in 11. Greb does some mauling work on the inside early, and Todd is wobbled by a nasty combination in round 2. Greb continues to measure Todd with the left hook through round 5, and Todd tires pretty quickly. Greb lands a nice uppercut on the inside that drops Todd for a 6 count in round 7. Todd rises only to catch a combination that puts him down again for a 6 count. Todd freezes up after that and Greb swarms him with nasty punches by the truckload. A nice right cross puts Todd down for an 8 count as round 9 ends but Todd refuses to surrender. Greb floors Todd again in the 10th for a flash knockdown, and absolutely tears into him for a full minute before the referee mercifully rescues Todd. Middleweight Enzo Fiermonte (#6) wins a TKO in 6 over hard luck Paddy Young (#5) who sustains a couple of bad injuries in this fight. Young tears a muscle in his shoulder in the very first round, and Fiermonte easily outworks the one-armed Young in the early rounds. Young has very little offense going and Fiermonte roughs him up through 5. Young lands a crushing right hand that wobbles Fiermonte early in the 6th, but he shatters his hand and turns away in agony, forcing the referee to immediately stop the fight. Middleweight Billy Angelo (#15) wins an upset decision in 8 rounds over smooth boxing Billy Soose (#14). Soose easily outboxes Angelo, a crude slugger in round 1, but Angelo lands an overhand right that blasts Soose to the corner in round 2. Soose recovers and is boxing circles around Angelo through round 4. Angelo is roughing up Soose in round 5, when Soose lands a hook to the jaw that wobbles Angelo. Soose is feeling good after landing a big right hand to finish round 6, but Angelo catches the newly aggressive Soose with and uppercut from hell that drops Soose for a 4 count. Angelo does some nice work in the follow up, but Soose isn't really that hurt. Angelo aggressively outworks Soose in the final round and Angelo takes the majority decision 78-74, 76-76 and 77-75.

Former EBC heavyweight champion Zora Folley (#12) wins a unanimous decision over Johnny DuPlooy (#11) in 12. Folley completely outclasses the South African in the first, but Johnny lands some nice flush right hands in round 2. Folley starts to bust him up with straight right hands, and by round 5 DuPlooy has a mouse under his left eye. Folley lands almost everything he throws in the 7th, and DuPlooy's eye really starts to be a problem. By round 9 DuPlooy is too tired to cut off the ring, and Folley boxes him silly from the outside. After a full round of Folley targeting the eye, the doctor has a look at DuPlooy after the 10th. Folley brings it home late and DuPlooy's eye closes. Folley by unanimous decision. Cruiserweight Carlos Cruzat (#3) fights to a majority draw with Dorcey Gaymon (#4) in 10 rounds. The early rounds are very close, but Gaymon seems to hurt Cruzat more often. Gaymon really staggers Carlos in the 4th, and Cruzat hangs on while taking it. Round 5 is an amazing see saw battle that sees Cruzat punishing Gaymon, only to have Dorcey almost floor him with an uppercut late in the round. Cruzat recovers to outwork Gaymon in round 7, and by the 8th Gaymon is tired and throwing very few punches. Cruzat figures he has it won, so he carefully plays defense in the final round, but the scoring is really a majority draw at the final bell. Super middleweight Librado Andrade (#4) wins a unanimous decision over Robert Stieglitz (#5) in 8. Stieglitz lands more often early, and both men have their moments in the slugfest. Andrade floors the German with an overhand right in round 4, and Stieglitz barely beats the count sporting a new shiner. Andrade absolutely punishes Stieglitz in the 5th, and Stieglitz's eye worsens. Andrade is hammering the half blind German in round 7 when Stieglitz lands a crushing right hand that staggers Andrade. Robert hammers him until the bell, but Andrade weathers the storm. Andrade unwisely trades in the final round to cement the unanimous decision. Heavyweight Santiago Lovell (#17) scores a 7th round knockout of Jack Munroe (#16) in an exciting opener. Lovell lands a three punch combination that rocks Munroe almost immediately. Munroe eats a huge overhand right that puts him down for a 4 count. Lovell patiently and accurately scores to the body for the rest of round 1. Early in round 3 Lovell pins Munroe into a corner and proceeds to outwork him big time on the inside, and Munroe can't escape the corner until the round ends. Munroe manages to stagger Lovell in the 4th with a right hand. Munroe leads a wild shootout at ring center in the 5th. Munroe fades in the 6th and Lovell stuns him with body shots. Lovell roars out of his corner in the 7th, flooring Munroe again with a body shot. Munroe gets up but runs into an uppercut that puts him down and out.

MWTiger Flowers (#10, 2-0-0, 0KO) W8 Tommy Freeman (#11, 1-1-0, 0KO)

In a rematch of heavyweight contenders, Rosco Toles (#7) and Paul Cavalier (#5) fight to a 12 round draw. The action is slower to start than last time the pair fought, and Toles patiently wears him down from the outside, while Cavalier lands the occasional hard hook. Paul takes a couple of the middle rounds, putting together combinations well. Toles has a good 6th round, snapping the jab and moving laterally. Cavalier really starts landing well in the 7th, aggressively firing to the head. Cavalier runs out of gas in the 9th, and Toles leads him around the ring on his jab. Toles comes on strong the last 2 rounds but the final scoring is a draw. Light heavyweight contender Lloyd Marshall (#4) wins a cuts TKO over Bert Gilroy (#5) in 5 rounds. Marshall is winning the 1st, pecking with the jab while using great head movement to stay elusive, when suddenly Lloyd lands a thunderbolt of a right hand that drops Gilroy for a 3 count as the round ends. Gilroy wakes up in the 4th landing some nice combinations while Lloyd is penalized for holding and hitting. Marshall starts off round 5 with a hard hook that cuts Gilroy above the eye in a hideous gash. The doctor steps in immediately and Marshall wins by TKO. Heavyweights George LaRocco (#13) and Reggie Meen (#14) fight to a stirring draw in 10 rounds. Both fighters have good power, and the early action is peppered with flush shots from both men. LaRocco fights a dirty but effective fight, and Meen has trouble landing much through round 5. Round 6 sees LaRocco in big trouble on the ropes eating big hooks. Meen presses his advantage in the 7th, staggering LaRocco again with an uppercut. Meen scores with a booming right and a low blow in the 8th, and the scoring seems to be more or less even at that point. LaRocco starts to swell on an eye, and the result is no defense anywhere in the building as both men land everything they throw. Meen has a great 10th round to make the scoring a majority draw. Middleweight Tiger Flowers (#10) wins a close majority decision from Tommy Freeman (#11) in 8 rounds. Freeman starts a little cold, and Tigers outboxes him smartly in the first. Flowers stings Freeman early in the 2nd and Tommy comes alive. Round 3 is a barnburner that sees Tiger stung early in the round, then Flowers comes back to stagger Tommy with a shot to the body as the round ends. Flowers really opens up at the end of the 5th throwing a wild assortment of combinations. Freeman takes the 6th when he traps Flowers in a corner and fires straight, quick punches while Flowers mostly misses his counters. Flowers holds the last 2 rounds while Freeman works the body and Flowers barely takes the majority decision.

MWLeeonzer Barber (#9, 1-1-0, 0KO) L10 Tommy Dragon (#10, 3-1-2, 0KO)

Heavyweight Sinan Samil Sam (#4) scores a 3rd round knockout of Amos Johnson (#21). Sam is cut a minute in, so he gets very aggressive, bulling Johnson to the ropes and blasting away in the 1st. Early in round 3 Sam lands a devastating uppercut that floors Johnson for a 9 count. He rises but is out on his feet, going down twice more from the barrage. the last knockdown is for the full count and Sam picks up the impressive KO. Sam has won 6 in a row since his curious fold up against Dutch pastry Rudi Lubbers in March, and he will probably be #2 contender behind Tommy Farr in next month's rankings. In a battle of top contenders, light heavyweight Eric Harding (#2) wins a unanimous decision over fellow slickster Henry Maske (#3) in 10 rounds. After a feeling out round, Harding starts to land the jab big time against Maske. Maske takes the 4th with a nice body attack, but both men box too well to hurt one another early. Maske seems to tire in the 7th, and Harding has a nice rally landing quickly to the head. Maske comes back in the 9th, when he cuts Harding with a jab. Harding wipes blood from his eye while Maske throws hooks. Harding takes the unanimous decision 96-94, 96-94 and 97-94. Super middleweight Mikkel Kessler (#2) wins a unanimous decision over Andrej Shkalikov (#3) in a walkover. One minute into the first round, Kessler lands a perfect shot to the ribs that floors the Russian for a 5 count. Kessler brutalizes him but Shkalikov survives to come back strongly in the 2nd. Shkalikov lands a big hook in round 4, triggering a nice exchange at ring center. Kessler moves in aggressively going to the body in the 5th, when he lands an uppercut that drops Shkalikov for another 5 count just as the round ends. Kessler continues to rough up the Russian on the inside, though Andrej lands a nice flush right hand in the 7th that staggers Kessler momentarily. Late in round 8 Shkalikov wobbles Kessler again with an uppercut, when Kessler comes back with a sweeping haymaker that floors Shkalikov for a flash knockdown. Shkalikov goes all out in the final round, but it's not nearly enough as Kessler takes the unanimous decision. Light heavyweight Tommy Dragon (#10) wins a unanimous decision over Leeonzer Barber (#9) in 10 rounds. Barber outmuscles Dragon on the inside for the first few rounds. Barber breaks his right hand early in round 4, and Dragon fearlessly starts to throw the right. Barber is winning the 7th when Dragon lands a tremendous left hook that almost puts Leeonzer down. Barber comes back strongly in the 8th round, cutting Dragon on an eyebrow and landing lots of jabs. Dragon returns the favor in round 9, cutting Barber on the eyelid, and punishing him against the ropes. Dragon takes the final round to cement a close but unanimous decision victory.
