Mario Sunshine
By: Super-Vantendo
Mario hasn't had a new adveture game since Super
Mario 64. Mario Sunshine will not be the game's final title. Not much
is known about this title (its still very early
in developement) but what we do know is that this new game takes
place in a coastal town that appears to be far removed from the
Mushroom Kingdom. We know the game is a platform adventure just
like Mario 64, other things we know of are the Sunshine Coins,
Sunshine meter and new Mario abilities. Mario sports a device on
his back that looks like a wierd water cooler.
The storyline in Mario Sunshine is pretty abstract. The adventure starts when Mario and Peach decide to take a well-deserved vacation to a beautiful island in a remote location.
When he arrives on the island, he notices ugly scribble marks covering the walls throughout the community. What's worse, the person responsible for the scribbling has disguised himself to look just like Mario! Mario is falsely accused by the locals, so he decides to get to the bottom of things. Armed with a new water-pumping backpack, Mario sets out to clean up the scribbling and reveal the identity of the true villain....
Graphically, Mario Sunshine is looking very cool- sorry it looks
hot. The environment is huge as you can tell by the distance Mario
can see when positioned on the roof of one of the many buildings.
Mario himself has many new animations and is looking very nice. Yoshi will be in the game but no word yet if he'll be playable.
The game is currently scheduled for a Japanese release in the
summer of 2002. The American release will be in August 26, 2002.
