HistoryPersonal History: Braken had been a fox kit when 2 young mages had shown the natural need to compete. One had believed he could use a spell that would give a fox the human ability of speech. Yup! You really should watch how you pronounce those magic spells. He had a human voice, and form. They hadn't known what to do about what they'd created. After all ... a little fox finding himself in such an odd form could be a bit confused. Fortunately they are curious by nature and adaptable. The oldest of the 2 mages let the kit/boy into his home and taught him a bit of the human world. The true intent of course was to gain loyalty of one who would be dependant on him. He had not given enough thought to a fox's curiosity and independent nature. They had also been surprised the day the growing kit/boy realized he could take back his original form at will. Braken keeps a sense of loyalty to the mage, when he remembers to. His mind is constantly in the now hardly ever in the past. At times that focus could even be a weakness, that and his mild drinking problem, and he can not stand to be trapped. On the other hand he can find his way out of almost any trap, has a great sense of smell.
