Paradox___

Miles lived a typical, boring childhood.  And adolescence brought no great wonders with it either.  It was death that changed Miles life, as paradoxical as that may sound.  Miles was at his aunt Sara's bedside when she died.  When he saw, experienced her death, it was as though he could sense the whole cosmos in that moment.  Innumerable worlds spinning around countless sunsGreat black clound of dust bigger than solar systems, pulsars and nebulas bleeding off energy into the vastness.  Miles met his inner self, which led him on a journey of self discovery.  He learned the eventual fate of all things, living and nonliving would be death, cold and sterile.  He learned that nature was not as he thought, that existence was malleable and that he could bend it if he wished.  He learned that he was destined to great things, if he followed the proper path.  He could excel and achieve some greatness, or he could return to his former perceptions and live a comfortable though normal existence.  Miles chose to follow his dreams.  He found when he woke that three days had passed, and the doctors had been worried.  He'd gone into a cataleptic trance when his aunt died; the doctors thought it was the shcok of seeing his aunt die that triggered this.  But Miles knew it was his special connection with death.  Now Miles is twenty-five, and he's still chasing his dreams.
