SAFETY RULES

Ever wonder why the "Water Police" pull you over for speeding, but you didn't know what the speed limit was? Well, look through this page and you'll never be stopped by the "Water Police" again for anything.

Here is an example of what not to do, unless you are an expert, on Jet-skis!!

Before After

These rules will help you to be safe on the water:
  • Always wear a Coast Guard approved flotation device.
  • Stay far away from shore, docks, and other boats, especially while water skiing.
  • The smallest craft, e.g. sailboats, kayaks, etc., have the right of way.
  • Honor all "no wake" zones.
  • Never DUI or drive recklessly!
  • Do NOT overload the boat/Personal Watercraft (PWC).
  • You must be 14 years old to drive and 16 to rent.
  • Know the water you're on...the shallows, submerged rocks, sand bars, etc.
  • Always move to the RIGHT when meeting head on with another boat or PWC.
  • Always report any injury or damage to the local law enforcement.
  • You must stay 1000 or more feet away from a tug boat and its barge.
