This is a plan for a very cheap squeegee which works as well as
commercial
squeegees for a fraction of the cost. It was taken mainly by your plan
for a
pull-through squeegee, yet I think it has been modified enough for me
to send
you this plan. Here it goes. . .
Materials:
1 shoelace (old or new it doesn't matter)
1 sponge
2 strips of cloth (about 2-2.5 in. wide and 6 in. long)
1 small Philips screwdriver (or any poking device for that matter)
Scissors
Directions:
First, cut two circles out of the sponge, slightly bigger than the size
of
your barrel.
With your screwdriver, poke a hole through the center of the sponge
circles.
The hole should not be bigger than the diameter of the shoelace.
Next, string the shoelace through the sponges one at a time with a
little
help from your screwdriver. The sponges should be about two inches
apart,
with the closest one about six inches from the end of the string.
Tie a single knot after each sponge, so that when you pull them through
you
barrel they do not slip off.
Then tie the two strips of cloth to the end of the string with the two
sponge
pieces.
With that your squeegee is complete. I find that it works best when
the
sponges are moist and not brittle. Enjoy!!
