Whats up people. OK, here is the RIGHT way to make a smoke bomb. Trust me,
I know a LOT about chemistry, and have made a SHITLOAD of theese bombs and
this is the way I have found the best results. Anyway, here goes.
First, the idiot that posted that potassium nitrate is dangerous to handle is
just telling you some crap. Also, ammonium nitrate is COMPLETELY diffrent
from potassium nitrate. Ammonium nitrate wont even light with sugar (at
least not well, and it wont make good smoke.) Also, Nitric Acid has nothing
to do with potassium nitrate. It is also highly hazardous and will burn your
hands/whatever off in a heartbeat, so dont mess with it. Here are some names
for Saltpeter:
Potassium Nitrate
KNO3
Nitrate of Potash
Anyway, mix it DRY, do not melt it. I have found that unmelted makes more
smoke, and lights easier. The ratios are 1 part potassium nitrate to 1 part
sugar. If you want it to light easier, just make it 2 parts potassium
nitrate to 1 part sugar, but it will make less smoke.
