The Gay Meadow - Shrewsbury Town

Ok, get the childish sniggering out of your system, yes it's called The Gay Meadow. If you must know it means happy but that's hardly going to intimidate the opposition is it?! Though you only need to look at the place to see that it is from a time when the common use of the word gay was indeed as another version of happy as oppose to homosexual. In other words it's old, crap and falling down.

Fortunately I'm a student so didn't have to pay the outrageous £12 to stand in their pathetic away end. I did in fact only have to pay £7. I still can't help but smile at the memories of the 1-2000 Telford fans (of which I was one) singing 'My garden shed is bigger than this...'
