In this third screenshot, nova has one foot in front of another, facing down a hallway with a Zergling in it. To the right there seems to be a Zergling smack dab in the middle of the wall, or the wireframe of one at least. This is because Nova is using her see through walls ability (there is no current name for it at this time), much like the Jedi Sight ability from Jedi Knight 2.
It’s symbol is that of an eye, and it can be seen that its in activation in the bottom left hand corner because of the slightly faded version of it just above the boxed version. Directly in front of her the zergling appears to be climbing on a wall or blue forcefield of somesort, which must be deactivated before Nova can progress through. To the right of it and around the corner, there is another zergling that has no idea that Nova is present (I will explain this further later). In the top right the unit info has appeared for the zergling, displaying its species, class, type, and health. Notice that this has only been displayed when her weapon has been drawn (shot number one and shot number three), but when she was facing a marine face to face when she was cloaked (shot number two), no info appeared, and no weapon was pointed. However, this screenshot confirms that “class type” is just another word for “unit name”, since the class is “zergling” and not “light melee” or something. I am also curious as to why she couldn’t tell that the class of the marine in shot number one was a marine, yet she can tell that the class of this zergling is a zergling. Perhaps it updates as the missions progress? Do you have to discover tactical information on each unit yourself so your targeting computer and update? She has 161 C-10 Canister bullets, and 43 energy. A few of both her life and shields have also been battered. If you look at her feet, you see that they are almost locked and crossed over each other, with blue rings under them. This could very well mean that she is walking, because if you look at the radar (top left), she is in a yellow, or “cautious” state of alert, like the marine was in shot number 2. Or maybe she has “soft boots” or a similar technology activated, since in shot number one she was full out firing her weapon yet she still appeared as green. The zergling directly in front of her is on high alert (and thus is pink in the radar), yet the one to her right, which cannot see her at all, is green, or in “calm mode.” The only thing that seems to contradict with this is that if Nova is the yellow/green pie piece in the radar screen, then that means the pie piece on the left side should be the zergling further on the left, and the pink pie piece the hidden zergling on the right. This contradicts the theory of “states”, because unless the hidden zergling which cannot see her is really P.O.ed for some reason, and the one on the left if unphased, it doesn’t come out correctly. The colors on the radar should be switched. Either that, or turning right in the real game would turn you left on the radar (confusing). This will probably be cleared up as further gameplay shots are released. That all of ‘em guys, I’ll be writing more analysis’ once more screenshots are let out. Thanx for readin! | |
