Small beings made out of energy, wisps help the elven races by building the different structures that they require. Unlike other builders, they cannot be placed into mines. But the fact that they cannot mine makes you want to kick them in their butt, wherever that is. They do make up for that by being pretty good builders and 4 of them may merge into an Ancient Wisp.

The Ice guard has the highest combat and damage rating from all basic units in the game. Their armor is ok but their hp are pretty low, a trademark of the elven races. They do get a damage upgrade and their high combat helps them survive and still be useful even in late game. I don't use them much however as I like other High Elf units far better than them.

Longbows are the High Elf archer. In my zeal I avoided them for much better units like mysics and Moonguards. However, I have found one good use for them: Firebreath. Invigorating them and firebreathing them makes them perfect base destroyers as they'll burn down both units, bases and heroes in a matter of seconds. They are one of the many reasons why you should have a moonguard in your retinue. Or better yet, make that two, they have decent hit points compared to most elf units.

Dragon Knights are the best basic cavalry in the game. They have huge combat, even for an advanced unit, and they get even more combat upgrades, making them the unit with the second highest combat in the game after Minotaur Kings. Their ability to hit air and kill dragons in two hits(after the upgrades at the dragon shrine) makes them both versatile and useful.

Mystics are extremely powerful spellcasters. red mages get fire ring which does less damage. The sorcerors pillar of fire has destructive damage but low range. The shamen's lightning has long range but bad damage. The mystics are a combo of all of them. And their rings of ice are extremely powerful as a bunch of mystics will knock down any army that has no decent ranged support or a mana draining fiend. They become even deadlier with invisibility because not even the toughest heroes are safe from them.

Ancient wisps are formed by merging 4 normal wisps. They are weaker at building than wisps, but cna attack multiple units, ignore armor and generate crystal, which makes them well worth having.

Unicorns are the advanced High Elf unit. They can heal, cure and cause awe, which is quite dangerous for archers. They have great damage, combat and speed, but not many hit points and armor.

Scorpions are one of the coolest weapons in the game. They are armed with 12 bolts that can be thrown at the same time. The bolts will go through units, allowing you to hit multiple enemies and usually kill them in one hit. As an added bonus, they can shoot arrows in all directions, hitting all enemies in range with a multi-target spell like the moonguard.

Best general in the game in my opinion. The have very good hit points, armor and combat and decent damage. Their true strength lies in their multitargeting ability. They don't cost much and build fast and large groups of them are unstoppable. Multitarget will take down any unit, no matter how strong thy are, as long as enough Moonguards are available.
