I soon hope to have images up of my growing worldeater army cult, but untill then I will simply go over some basic worldeater army painting tips.
I have found that I get good results from a black undercoat, drybrushing the reds and then applying detail. I use all the reds in the citadel line starting from darkest to light, Scab red first, then Red Gore, and finally Blood red. The buildup works nicely, and then to bring out the red, I use some very watered down red ink, being carefull not to get any into the grooves. The drybrushing has a tendancy to leave small lines of black between areas, which is an effect that I like. Next I use highlighs of Dwarf Bronze to bring out the trim. Simple and straightforward so far I know, but you've got to start somewhere.
I have learned a neat trick for metals, such as boltguns and axes and the like. Starting with a black undercoat, do a heavy drybrush of tinbitz, then add your boltgun metal or chainmail, and it makes the weapon look much more dramatic.
If you have any tips you would like to share, just email them to me. I will put them up here and give you credit.
