Note this tip and do it once a week or so. Windows XP has a new feature which is called "Prefetch". It stores shortcuts on top of
shortcuts for all the programs you open. This is extrememly helpful because your computer checks this folder first to see if it can
get to your programs faster. However, it gets cluttered with shit you've used once or so. If you regularly delete the contents, it
will automatically reload the programs you use often, thus speeding up the search for your programs. The second tip if for the
select few programs you use daily.
Tip No. 1
1. My Computer --> Windows --> Prefetch.
2. Delete the contents on this folder, not the folder itself.
Tip No. 2
1. Right Click the shortcut to a program on your desktop that you use often. Select Properties.
2. Click the Shortcut Tab --> In the first white box, to the left it says, "Target:" add /prefetch:1 after the last quotation mark.
3. It should look like this "C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" /prefetch:1
4. Make sure there is a space between the last quotation mark and /prefetch:1
5. This makes that program a priority when you click it. Before you did this, when you would open that program a bunch of little
men in your computer were drunk and would take like 6 seconds to get around to opening it. NOW, they are still drunk, but they get
scared when you click it and they jump up and run around real fast and open the program in 2 seconds.
