The old saying "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" certainly applies to chess sets. A complete set of 32 is a sight to behold. Beauty and symmertry are present even when there are variations between the chessmen themselves. However, an incomplete set is a tragedy. It gives a sense that the "family" is missing a member.
Chess collectors often face that cruel fact which is really part of the collecting experience. Wear and tear over time takes its toll and chessmen are often broken, lost or destroyed --- rendering the set incomplete.
This section lists those key items that I am searching for to complete a number of sets in my collection. There is always hope that the missing pieces will turn up somewhere. With that in mind, I have prepared my "want list" below and hope some chess player or collector out there can help make a few sets of mine whole again. I am open to trade or make an outright purchase. Just drop me an e-mail. Am sure we can work something out!
