Fight Club - Movie Review

Fight Club

cover

Fight Club is a movie about a main character Jack/The Narrator (Edward Norton), whose is an insomniac and his life is going down the drain. In an attempt to relieve his insomnia he visits a support group for testicular cancer where he meets "Bob" Robert Paulson (Meatloaf). Here he also meets another person down on her luck, Marla Singer (Helen Bonam Carter). On a business trip Jack meets Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt). When Jack's apartment explodes he goes to stay with Tyler, and Tyler changes Jack's perspective on everything. They form a club where men can work out there aggressions by fighting each other. Tyler keeps on escalating the club by giving out homework and then starting "Project Mayham". When Jack learns what project mayham is, he decides that Tyler must be stopped. The movie ends in an amazing climatical fight between the two, and the result of what project mayham accomplishes.

This movie was very thought provoking. The plot was very good, full of twists and turns and always kept you thinking. This is the kind of movie you would still be thinking about days after. Brad Pitt and Edward Norton really make this movie with their terrific acting abilities. Tyler Durden is the most interesting, excentric character I've seen in a long time. The filmography and the artist representation of the movie really overshadows the horrific violence that was portrayed. Throughout the whole movie it seemed like every sequential scene was "taken up a notch". This movie is great go see it!
