Nomad - Jesse Cook Review
Nomad - Jesse Cook
Jesse Cook is an amazing Flamenco guitarist. I first saw him on tv on Bravo at the Montreal Jazz Festival. I was totally blown away by his impressive styling and rhythm section. Eventually, I bought one of his cd's Free Fall and I enjoyed it alot. Probably his biggest hit yet, Fall at Your Feet that he did with Danny Wilde from the Remebrants(Friends theme song) is on that cd. On this cd Jesse explorers more middle eastern music, and the arabian effect can really be felt. Jesse's song are always rich and full with many different instruments, while being powered by Jesse's virtuoso and amazing speed solos.
I went to see Jesse live at a concert on November 14. I really liked the concert and thought it was really well done. Jesse music is so amazing and he played my favourite songs, Rattle and Burn and Mario Takes a walk. At the end of the concert he asked if everyone in the hall could hear him, and he played Fall At Your Feet totally unplugged along with his band as the crowd sang along, it was a very nice personal touch. I thought his violinst did a very good job on the vocals. Jesse's master percussionist could keep the crowd entertained by himself just playing his box with a microphone in it. If you like spanish style guitar, arabian music, or just like to hear someone who is really talented play great music, go buy a Jesse Cook cd, or see him live!
