CONTRACTS & SALARY CAP
EXAMPLES

I have John Kitna on my team (I don't know why?) and the contract is
for 3 million dollars for 2 years. I would write this 3/2. The first
number represents the amount of money and the second number is
how many years the player is under contract.

A player paid 3 million dollars for 2 years would be worth 6 million
dollars from the salary cap (3 million multiplied by 2 years). The
amount left to purchase players for your team after acquireing
John Kitna would be 294 million (300 million salary cap minus 6
million for Kitna's 3/2 contract).

After the season I bought Kitna is finished his new contract is 3/1
(3 million dollars for one year) this would raise my salary cap by 3
million for the new seasons draft. Any player who finishes the last
year of their contract is placed in the free agency the next year and
is eligible to be drafted by any team manager.

When determining between bids on a player, all players wIll accept
the highest dollar amount. If two bids are placed with the same
dollar amount the player will accept the bid with the least years
attached. If by chance two bids are entered for the same amount and
the same length of contract then the person with the worse record
from the previous year will be the front runner (during the first year it
will be determined by who places the bid first). Manager's may not
place a bid for a player of the same dollar amount or lower then an
already posted amount.

Draft Example

On June 11th i'll e-mail a list of 10 players, June 12th i'll e-mail a list of
another 10 players and on June 13th yet another list of 10 players. Team
mangers will have 3 days after a player list is e-mailed to respond with
bids. Team mangers simply fill in under the contract area of the e-mailed
player list the dollar amount and years of contract; 3/2 (explained above
under "CONTRACTS & SALARY CAP EXAMPLES").

On June 14th (3 days after the first player list is e-mailed) I will e-mail
the player list sent on July 11th with the following changes: Any players
who failed to receive any bid from a Team Manager is dropped from the
list and sent to the free agency, any of the players removed from the list
will be replaced with a new player, and the revised list will contain the
current top bid for players and the team manager who presented the offer.
On June 15th and 16th the same will be done with the player lists originally
e-mailed on the 12th and 13th. This process will continue until all, but one
(or none) of the teams have filled their roster or until one week before the first
NFL season game.

When a manager places a bid on a player and the player fails to receive a bid
before the next update, then that player is added to the team managers roster.

2 weeks before the first NFL season game I'll request all Team managers to
submit a list of players and contracts (amounts/lengths) for players who I have
not included in the auction by that time. I'll them e-mail a list of all these players
and the contracts submitted. Players will have three days to counter offer I will
then e-mail the list of players and contracts once more. The contracts of the
highest amount and least years will be accepted at that time with no other
chance to counter offer.
