The War On Infogrames
Part Two: Echoes of History

Prologue

Fire.  So much fire.  It burns the streets.  Death.  Destruction.  And fire.  I can see it now.  Whole cities decimated by kaiju.  But where did they come from?

Why are they here?

That was fifteen years ago.  We humans won the war, but at what cost?  How many lives were sacrificed?  How many innocents died at the hands of those evil men who controlled the kaiju as though they were weapons of mass destruction?

I know it is a dream.  No.  A nightmare.  But the Man In Red is there.  My father's body lies in a crumpled heap at his feet.  I cry even as the flames of war attempt to consume my very soul.

But the Man In Red laughs.  A horrible, echoing laughter.  And I can see his eyes.  Sinister eyes.  Dark blue flames piercing through my own eyes, as though they see what lies within me.

I pick up my father's sword.  It gleams a bright red.  I turn towards my foe, but he has disappeared.  The stench of rotting corpses fills me with fear.  I rush to my father's side.  He looks up at me, and utters his last words.

"Watch... for the signs.....the signs........Dark..........Eclipse........"

I close his lifeless eyes.  I look to the sky.  And one memory burns me to my very core.

The eyes.  Those accursed eyes.

Damn those eyes!
