The War On Infogrames
Part One: Visions of Deceit

Chapter Six

A long silver table sat in the middle of the room.  Ten men clad in black robes sat at individual chairs surrounding the table.  At one end of the room was a large window that overlooked a black sky.  A man dressed in a black cape with a dark red suit of armor stared out the window.  "Gentlemen," he said, still staring into the night sky.  "It has come to my attention that the production of our chemical narcotic is going rather smoothly.  Captain Samrong has assured me that everything is going according to plan."  The man clad in red turned towards his audience.  "However, I have just now been informed that our agents in the West have run into a slight problem."

The group turned to each other and began to whisper.  Suddenly the large double doors opened and revealed a man dressed in green armor in the same style as the man in red.  "My lord," he said as he ran into the room, trying to catch his breath.  "Our operatives are reporting that HE has appeared over the Hawaiian Islands.  They are tracking him and it appears that he is heading for Infogramia.  Shall I inform our friends in the West?"

The man in red turned back toward the window.  He stayed silent for a moment.  Then he faced the man in green.  "No," he said flatly.  "I want to see what he is capable of.  Perhaps he is simply a neutral party.  If he destroys our base along with our opposition, then Infogramia is worth losing.  I won't risk having our plans leaked out by that fool Fong."  He turned to his seated audience.  "Gentlemen, this meeting is over."

The ten got up silently and walked out the door.  The man in green stepped forward.  "Are you sure about this, Lord Drakken?" he asked.  Drakken turned to his compatriot.  "Yes, Captain Samrong.  It is time to see if this 'Black16' is friend or foe."  Drakken looked up into the sky.  "And may God help him if he is our foe...."

Fire Rodan snarled viciously at Phantom Godzilla.  The demon had already solidified Meltdown Godzilla, and was ready to turn its full attention to Gigan when Rodan intervened with a uranium heat beam.  The blast hit Phantom Godzilla in the back, since the creature was not aware of its attacker, and made the hellspawn even angrier.  The monster had never felt pain before.  Fire Rodan fired another blast, but Phantom Godzilla phased out just in time.  He returned fire with his own breath attack.  Rodan veered off to the right, but the beam struck his left wing and sent Rodan crashing to the ground.  His wing fully solidified leaving the kaiju at the mercy of his opponent.

A strange roar pierced the night sky.  Phantom Godzilla turned to see Space Godzilla in all his glory making his way toward the demon.  The two had a stare down, until Aqua Mothra assaulted Phantom Godzilla with an energy beam from the right side.  Phantom Godzilla roared in confusion and shot a beam at Mothra, who separated into smaller versions of himself to avoid contact.  Suddenly a red laser blasted Phantom Godzilla in the chest, and the kaiju stumbled backwards.  Gigan clanged his claws and swiped at the beast, but Phantom Godzilla faded out again and the swipe missed its target.  Phantom Godzilla tail whipped Gigan into the rocky wall causing a minor avalanche.  The creature laughed with delight as it realized that as long as it stayed transparent, it would be invincible.

Suddenly, Phantom Godzilla began to lose control of his faculties.  The demon grabbed its head and shook it.  Suddenly, he regained his solid state and could no longer phase out.  Looking around in despair, Phantom Godzilla saw a twisted smile on the face of Space Godzilla.  The space kaiju was using its mental powers to control Phantom Godzilla's phasing!

All the while, a pair of small blue fires in the shape of eyes watched the battle from the sky.  Suddenly, a dragon-like head appeared to support the eyes, but there was no visible mouth.  What followed was a body difficult to describe.  The entity's body was a nearly black shade of blue, covered in an armor-like skin.  A lighter shade of blue shined through the joints in this armor.  It had therapod-like legs, which ended with two-toed feet.  He had a long, round, slowly tapering tail that ended in an elliptical nub.  On his back were three dorsal plates, arranged in a V pattern.  His upper arm looked rather human, whereas the lower arm resembled gauntlets ending in three fingered hands.

The being stared long and hard at the battle as it progressed.  Shortly he would make his presence known to all...
