The War On Infogrames
Part Two: Echoes of History

Chapter Two

A few hours passed by, and the cruise ship was getting closer to Gates' island.  The agents were grouped together on a lifeboat, ready to depart at a moment's notice.  Dragitron seemed to be the calmest of the agents.  "All right, men.  As soon as Gates' personal coast guard comes over to turn this ship around, we catch a ride right back to that multibillion dollar asshole's secret base.  Fury and Fudge will take the Southern route heading through the jungle.  See if you can find a hidden back entrance.  G64, GWB, and myself will take the direct path.  Any questions?"  Everyone else remained silent.  "All right then, ladies.  Let's do this!"

Within minutes the coast guard arrived.  Moments later the ship was forced to turn around, and as the coast guard headed back home, GWB tossed a small grappling hook onto the back of the enemy boat.  The agents were quickly and silently towed to the island.

Soon the boat came to a large gate.  Dragitron motioned for GWB to get rid of the hook, and seconds later the agents dived under and swam through the gate, unnoticed.  After gathering their senses and heading for a secluded area of the beach, the agents split up.  Fury and Fudge headed for the jungle, and the others made their way to the front of the base.

Once again the rather large table was filled.  The murmur of the ten cloaked men was steadily getting louder.  Suddenly, the door swung open, and Samrong entered the room.  He held his arm out to the door, ushering in his lord.  "Presenting Lord Drakken."  Drakken entered the room and his audience fell silent.  He made his way to a large chair at the head of the table, and took a seat.  All eyes were now upon him.

"Gentlemen, I realize that you are quite upset with the recent destruction of the island of Infogramia.  Let it be said that our defeat there has not set us back much.  Even now the porting of G:DAMM to Microsoft's X Box is moving ahead of schedule.  Everything is fine."

Suddenly one of the robed men got out of his seat.  In a raspy voice, he angrily voiced his opinion of the situation at hand.  "You promised us that each game will be 'specially packaged' with Kaiju Kandy.  Where is the proof that our product is ready to be shipped?"  His defiance garnered an occasional "Here, here" from the audience.  The shrouded man continued to vent.  "We were told months ago that Project Blight would be available by now, and we have yet to see it!"

Drakken smiled for a moment.  "Relax, Hirus.  Project Blight is being handled at another location.  I assure you that Kaiju Kandy will be available to the general public as soon as the game is released."  Hirus took his seat, but another man got up.  In a similar raspy voice, he asked Drakken about their newest threat.  "What of this Black16?  We cannot have the others find out about our plans!  If Black16 were to realize our goals, Elohem's chosen ones would have our heads!  Are you doing anything to stop him?"

Drakken smiled again.  "Seriun, of course I am.  As a matter of fact, I have someone here who can easily end the threat of both the Agency and Black16 at the same time!"  He snapped his fingers, and Captain Samrong came forward.  He threw back his cloak and pulled out a crystal clear rapier that glistened in the moonlight.  "My best warrior is Captain Samrong.  The sword he now holds has the power to send a fourth-dimensional being like Black16 straight to the Abyss!  It is known as the Sword of the Damned.  Though it may look pure, I assure you it is anything but!  Samrong, a demonstration, if you please."

Samrong walked over to Seriun.  The cloaked man stared into Samrong's eyes, which glowed emerald green.  Suddenly he was stricken with fear and turned to run.  Samrong just stood and watched as Seriun's body began to disappear, as he tried to transfer himself to another dimension.  Within seconds, his body completely disappeared.  Samrong threw the rapier at the wall, and it pierced through the material.  To the horror of the other men, Seriun's lifeless body reappeared, run through by the Sword of the Damned.

Drakken laughed evilly.  "The sword has the power to transfer one's essence to the Abyss.  The physical embodiment remains, but it's nothing more than cosmic dust.  Samrong walked over to Seriun's body and lightly blew on it.  The body poofed instantly into a cloud of dust.  He then pulled the sword out of the wall.  The terrified beings turned to Drakken.  The Man In Red sat down.  "Class dismissed," he said.
