The War On Infogrames
Part Two: Echoes of History

Chapter Four

The inside of the building was silent.  Right behind the main door, a red laser beam continued to travel up and down.  On the wall to the left of the laser, a loud sound could be heard from the nearby vent.  Suddenly the vent opening fell to the floor, and GWB slipped in feet first.  He turned to his left and two steel doors slid open.

Two guards happened to be sitting by the metal detector, smoking cigarettes.  They took one look at GWB and asked him where he came from and what his business was.  GWB just smiled and put his right hand in the inner left pocket of his trench coat.  The guards motioned their hands toward their gun holsters, but GWB continued to smile as he pulled out his.... sunglasses.  "Relax, gentlemen.  I have a proposition for Mr. Fong.  Is he here?"

The first guard answered him.  "You can't see Mr. Fong without clearance.  Do you have any?"  GWB smiled again.  In a millisecond he whipped out his Desert Eagles and sprayed the guards with bullets.  Both bodies dropped to the floor.  "Here's my clearance," he said with a smirk.  As he walked through the metal detector, it beeped loudly.  GWB just laughed as he continued walking down the hall to the elevator.

Suddenly, the doors opened and ten guards rushed out.  GWB just continued to smile.  "I love this job," he quipped.

Meanwhile, Dragitron was still outside when he heard gunshots ring out.  "Oh great," he said with a sigh.  "It looks like GWB said hello."  Then he threw a grappling hook onto the roof of the fortress and began to climb.  When he reached the top floor, he looked through a neighboring window, and gasped at what he saw.

The evil visage of Bill Gates was illuminated in a dark room by a pair of laptop computers.  On one screen was the unforgettable face of Kirby Fong.  But on the other was a face hidden behind utter darkness.  Nothing was shown, save for two dark blue fire-like eyes.

"Those eyes!" Dragitron murmured in a seemingly total catatonic state.

The unknown man's eyes stared straight through Gates.  'The shipment of Kaiju Kandy is on its way to our headquarters at Sony in Japan.  I trust that your game is almost complete?"  Gates had a lump in his throat.  "Yes sir!  I assure you that once the subjects consume the catalyst, all will go according to plan.  We are now in the process of fixing any bugs the game might have."

"Hmmmm," the stranger responded.  "I look forward to hearing from you shortly, Mr. Gates."  Then his screen turned off.  Suddenly the face of Kirby Fong grew angry.  "Gates!!!  Don't blow this for us!  We had a deal, and I expect that the shipment will be made on time!!!  Inform me of any progress from here on out!"  Then his screen, too, turned off.

By this time, Dragitron had regained his composure and heard everything.  Without thinking, he burst through the window and tackled the startled Bill Gates to the ground.  "I heard it all, Gates!" he screamed as he raised one of his swords to strike down the billionaire.  "Now you and your entire empire are going down!  You know the murderer of my father!  And now I'm going to return the favor by killing you!"

Suddenly a hidden entrance slid open.  A large reptilian arm grabbed Dragitron and flung him across the room.  The creature was somewhat man-like in the physical sense, but it had a long, tapering snout with dozens of razor-sharp teeth.  Its arms were large and muscular, as were its legs.  The skin appeared to be a dark green mottled texture.  A long tail swung from side to side.

Gates dusted himself off and laughed nervously.  "You fools think you can stop us?  You have no idea what you are getting yourself into!  Now I'd like you to meet our prototype.  He is a kaijunoid, a bio-engineered cross between man and kaiju.  He is the future of this planet, and you are his first meal!"
