The War On Infogrames
Part Two: Echoes of History

Chapter Five

Meanwhile, in the dense jungle of the island, Fudge and Fury were making their own discovery.  While searching for a secret passage into the fortress, they discovered a strange wall with odd writing.  Fudge placed his hand on the strange figures carved into the rock wall.  They seemed to glow in the moonlight, but didn't resemble any known language on Earth.  Suddenly, the wall shuddered and slid open.  Fudge looked at Fury, who nodded in agreement.  They looked into the opening, which was lit by torches along the inner walls.  A set of spiral steps led downward into the unknown.

The two agents made their way down the stairwell, ready for anything.  Along the walls, more odd symbols glowed an eerie green.  "What the hell is this place doing on this island?" Fury asked.  Fudge shrugged his shoulders as he held his broadsword tightly in both hands.  "I don't know.  It seems almost otherworldly.  Be on your guard!"

Finally they reached the bottom.  More strange writing appeared on the walls leading to a well-lit chamber.  Suddenly two strange pillars stood opposite each other at the end of the hallway.  Two glowing green orbs sat upon the pillars.  Fudge noted that the strange writing began to glow green as well.  "I don't like this.  We should leave."

Suddenly, the form of Black16 took shape in front of them.  "So, you've found the chamber hidden here.  I am surprised that it took you so long.  I've been waiting here for well over an hour."

Fury raised his voice in the small chamber.  "Well, unlike you, we can't simply materialize from out of nowhere!  What is this place?"  Black16 hovered over to the orbs.  He placed his hands on them.  Suddenly electricity flowed from the orbs into the center of the room, and an odd hologram appeared.  "This is a message from our mysterious opposition," Black16 said.

The hologram became dark and a strange robed man appeared.  His eyes glowed dark blue.  The stranger's voice was deep and foreboding.  "If you are watching this message, then I assume you are the agents.  Congratulations on destroying my base at Infogramia.  I assure you it was all part of the plan.

"For countless millennia I've attempted to take over this pathetic world you have, and now I have the means to do it.  You know of the porting of G:DAMM to X-Box.  Well, I plan on using it to control the human race!"  Then he sneered.  "You'll find out how soon enough."

Then he turned to leave, but stopped.  He turned back to face his foes.  "Oh, and if Dragitron is there, tell him the look on his father's face after I killed him was absolutely PRICELESS."  Then the hologram disappeared.

Fury and Fudge stared at each other for a moment.  Then Black16 spoke.  "I suggest we head to the surface to help the others.  Don't breath a word of this to Dragitron."  The three headed for the exit, but a slab of concrete locked them in the room.  The two orbs rose from their pillars, and began to hover.  "This can't be good," said Fury.
