THE THREE KEYS
Part One: The Key of Spirit

Chapter 1: Out of the Blue

"So what you're saying is that this Key can lead us to the others?" asked G64.  He stared long and hard at the Wyrm Jade, wondering how such an artifact was made in the first place.  Awsome 1 had just finished performing tests on it to check the Key's authenticity.  "That's right," he answered.  "This baby gives off a sort of fluorescent glow whenever a Key is near.  But it's better off here with us, since Fury knows the location of the Second Key."

Drag walked in on the two agents.  "You boys having fun with that stone?" he joked.  A1 gave him a slightly miffed expression.  "This is no time to joke, Drag.  This Key is part of a puzzle.  If we can figure out how it interacts with the others, then maybe we can stop the resurrection of Bagan."  He turned back to the Key.  "Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a job to finish."  G64 shrugged his shoulders at Drag, and the two left the laboratory.

It had been almost two whole weeks since the Antarctic excursion where the First Key had been reclaimed.  There, in the frozen tundra, Fury had met his long lost brother, and Deathwing realized his destiny as an Avatar of Light.  After being told of the Second Key's whereabouts, Fury left with GWB and the Agency's Beta Team to London where the artifact was purported to be located.  Meanwhile, back at Agency Isle, Drag, G64, Fudge, and Awsome 1 were studying the Key of Spirit to try and discover its secrets.

Drag and G64 headed to Fudge's quarters, where he was busy meditating.  The spiritual guide of the Agency sensed their presence and spoke to them through telepathy.  "So, you've still got nothing on that Key, huh?  Master Fong used to say that the path of truth is not straight but crooked, and those who are narrow-minded will never discover the hidden passageways of such a path."  Drag walked around Fudge as he replied.  "Yeah?  Well now your former master is a psychotic nut hell-bent on taking over the world, so keep your little sayings to yourself, pal."

Just then, Fairy Mothra flew into the room and chirped as it flew in front of Drag.  He angrily brushed Fairy to the side and stormed out of the room.  "What's eating him?" G64 said aloud.  Fudge opened his eyes.

"He is angry that his brother allowed himself to be consumed by that demon Corpsefire.  He knows that he is powerless to stop Dracatron and will have to confront him some day."  G64 began to head out the door.  "Well, I hope that they meet soon, or else Drag's gonna take his anger out on us!"  He shut the door behind him as Fairy chirped at Fudge.  "Yes, my friend.  Everyone is tense, and they have good reason to be," he responded.

Meanwhile, Awsome 1 had just finished staring at the Key through a microscope.  He was tired and rubbed his eyes with his hands.  Suddenly, he noticed a slight shimmer as though the Key was giving off energy.  He shook his head.  "I must be seeing things.  I could've sworn that Key was glowing."  He got up from his seat and left the room.

"Proceed to land.  Pack light, and don't carry any firearms.  We're here on diplomatic terms."  General Rampage walked back and forth in front of his troops.  "We will not use force unless I give the order.  Is that understood?"  His platoon saluted him and answered in unison.  "Sir, yes, sir!"

The drop ship landed silently on the tip of the island.  The entry ramp lowered quietly and Rampage was the first to emerge.  "Well, kid, I hope you're ready for me," he said to himself.
