THE THREE KEYS
Part Three: The Key of Mind

Chapter 5: The Fires of Revenge

The roar of the Kaijunoids was cut short by the sound of gunfire.  "Keep firing!  Don't let those bastards through!" Rampage yelled as his soldiers continued their assault.  Kaijunoids dropped by the dozens, but there were too many and they began to overrun the line of defense.

UG90 huddled all of the young agents together.  Some of the children were crying, and UG90 tried his best to calm them down.  "Don't worry.  Everything's going to be all right."   A young girl hugged his leg.  "Why are they all fighting?" she asked.  UG90 looked down at the girl.  "I don't know," he answered.  "People fight for their own reasons."

Ness and Shadow led the older agents into battle.  Ness led the battle charge as Shadow stood back with the reserves.  "Wait for my signal," Shadow said.  The front line was hit hard, with Kaijunoids and agents flying all over the place.  The agents were being overrun, and Shadow let loose his group.  "Charge!" he yelled, and the agents ran forward to assist their brethren.

Ness grabbed the heads of two Kaijunoids and slammed them together.  A third charged at him, but an uppercut sent the beast flying into two more.  "Where's the real challenge?" Ness joked.  Suddenly, the mob of Kaijunoids broke apart as Galex made his way up to Ness.  The strongman looked at the giant.  "You again?"  Galex cracked his neck and went for a punch, but Ness sidestepped and decked Galex in the head.  Galex felt his cheek, then threw his own punch, sending Ness to the ground.  He put his foot on Ness' chest and pressed down, hearing the ribs crack.  "Argh!" yelled Ness.

GWB tackled Galex from the side, sending him to the floor.  "Why don't you pick on someone smarter than you?" he said, pulling out his Desert Eagles.  Galex returned to his feet and held out his axe.  GWB looked down at Ness.  "This isn't gonna go well," he said to the fallen agent, who could only look up and grimace.

---------------------

Awsome 1 opened his eyes.  He was still alive, his body stuck under concrete.  He struggled to get free, but a reptilian hand flung the rubble off of him.  A1 slowly got to his feet, only to have his face meet a fist.  He crashed into the lab table (or what was left of it) and dropped to the floor.  Rex stood over him and growled.  "You are the Creator, are you not?"  He looked around the room.  On the table was the Wyrm Jade.  "The First Key!" he exclaimed.  Rex silently walked over to the table, picked up the Key, and bent down near A1.  "I am honored to finally meet you, Creator.  You are responsible for me, but you do not know it yet.  I am a Metakaiju, the next step in Kaijunoid evolution.  I am your masterpiece from a future that shall never be.  However, we can change all that."  Rex snapped his fingers and a large Kaijunoid picked A1 up off of the floor.  "Take him to the Garula," Rex said with a smile.  "There is much to be done."

Rex looked at the Key in his hand and it began to glow.  "The other Key is here somewhere.  I will find it, and be rewarded for my efforts!"  He left the lab and began to search the rest of the compound.

'Brother, it is time."  Khalm walked up to Fury.  The agent turned to Khalm.  "Must I really go?" he asked.  Khalm nodded and smiled.  "In order to destroy the evil of this world, you and I must unleash Bagan.  Please, come with me and we'll meet our destiny... together."  He held out his hand and Fury took it.  Khalm stared into Fury's eyes, and suddenly they glowed an odd yellow color.  Fury's eyes followed suit.  "Good," Khalm said.  "Let's go."

------------------------

Dragitron and Dracatron stared at each other.  "I won't hesitate to kill you, brother," Drac said, pulling out his sword.  Drag responded by pulling out his swords and combined them to form Ragnarok.  "No, you won't hurt me, Drac.  Corpsefire is controlling you.  Fight it!  You've got to resist him.  I'm not going to harm you!"  Drac stared at his brother with an emotionless face.  "Such a pity.  I'll have to kill you without much of a fight then."  He pointed his sword at Drag as Samrong watched in approval.  "How delicious.  My archenemy will die at the hands of his own brother!"  He looked at his watch.  "It's almost time.  What is taking Rex so long?"

----------------------

A group of Kaijunoids charged at Fudge, who seemed to be sitting and meditating.  G64 watched in horror as they all piled on top of him.  "Oh no," he thought as his eyes grew wide.  However, a strong wind picked up and blew the beasts off of Fudge, who was unharmed.  The blast of wind sent them flying in all directions.  Fudge calmly stood up and pulled out his broadsword.  He looked up at G64.  "Find Fury.  He disappeared a few moments ago."  G64 nodded and ran off.

"Where the hell did Fury get to?" G64 asked himself.  He ran around the side of the compound where he saw Fury talking to a familiar form.  He stared in shock.

It was DaRokSez.

Fury and DaRokSez were shaking hands.  G64 couldn't believe it.  He took out his shotgun in anger and fired a shot at DaRokSez.  The villain deflected the shot and wrapped his cloak around Fury.  In a flash, they both disappeared.  "Shit," G64 yelled.  He turned to warn the others, but Spyder stood in his way.  "Where are you going, little vermin?" he asked inquisitively, with a hint of malice.  "Ssssurely you don't think I'd let you get away and warn your friendsss.  They will find out in due time, but not now.  Not now."  Spyder threw off his cloak and backhanded G64 with his arm.  Tucking in his arms and legs, Spyder crawled over to G64 with his spidery legs.  "Sssleep, little one.  Sssleep," he said as he began to cover the agent's body with a web-like cocoon.

------------------

Rex wandered into G64's room, the Key in his hand glowing incredibly bright.  He looked around until he saw the WKAT trophy.  "Ah ha!" he exclaimed.  Grabbing the trophy, Rex ripped it in two.  Inside the wooden base was a small moth-shaped piece of platinum.  "The Key of Mind, the Moth's Essence!" he said with a laugh.  His laugh was cut short by the roar of Deathwing.  "That's why you joined the tournament!" he growled.  "You knew the whereabouts of the Key all along, and you played us like a bunch of fools!"  Rex laughed.  "Believe me, there wasn't much playing involved!"  He jumped out the window and Deathwing charged after him.

-------------------------

Dragitron blocked the swing of Dracatron's sword.  "Stop this madness!" he cried out, but his words fell on deaf ears.  Drac swung again, this time harder than before.  Again.  And again.  And again.   Soon Drag was pushed back to a nearby cliff.  "I'm going to kill you, Dragitron.  There's no way to escape," Drac said as a familiar gray mist formed behind him...
