The 5000th World Kaiju ARena Tournament
A Prelude to the "Three Keys Trilogy"

Round One

Ezekiel vs. Chrono Warrior 3

Ezekiel looked about the ARena.  "And to think, all just an illusion.  The only things of substance are the kaiju…"

Suddenly, the loud speaker above him came to life, "Ezekiel, Chrono Warrior, report to the observation pods, your fight's up next!"

Ezekiel had bronzish looking skin, like he had just gotten a tan.  His hair was wavy and blond brown.  He wore a simple gray jacket with a white under shirt and olive green pants.  At his waist a black belt with a silver, triangular buckle, engraved with odd-looking symbols of some long forgotten language.  His boots went about half way to his knees, and looked almost metallic.  But the strangest thing about him were his eyes, sky blue, and they almost seemed to glow...

Ezekiel began to make his way toward the pod docks.  The stadium was near overflowing with people wanting to get a first hand view of the fight.  He picked his way past an impatient line collectively yelling at a fat tourist to hurry up with his order at the snack bar.  As he passed the fourth floor, he suddenly felt a shudder come over him.  He looked in the direction of the strange energy he felt.  "That was Rex Raptor," he muttered to himself.  "Just like the energy I felt in DaRokSez, it's not of the Khawlal, but it is dark as their power is.  But the power isn't their own, they must be receiving this energy from someone, but who?"

A voice called out to him.  "Hey punk, ready to lose?"  Ezekiel turned around.  "Ah, you must be Chrono Warrior, I anticipate that our battle will be quite the challenge for both of us."  "Riiight, give me a break.  Me and Ghidorah are unbeatable.  We're going to spread little bits of your kaiju all over the ARena!"  The two combatants reached the observation pods.  As they readied themselves to direct their kaiju, Ezekiel extended his hand to Chrono.  "May the best kaiju win," Chrono looked at his opponent's outstretched hand.  "Oh, don't worry, Ghidorah will."  With that, he shut the door to his pod.  Ezekiel looked at his opponent's door, "Pride comes before a fall."

The crowd was ecstatic, cheering for favorites and displaying letters painted on stomachs.  "Alright people, the next fight is sure to be a doozy, Chrono Warrior and Grand King Ghidorah vs Ezekiel and Guilala!  The box is locked, the lights are on, and it's KAIJU FIGHTIN' TIME!!!"  The crowd burst into applause.

Ghidorah teleported into the ARena and immediately blasted some nearby buildings to shrapnel.  The crowd cheered even louder.  Then Guilala appeared.  Half the audience started to burst out in laughter.  "Come on folks!" One of the commentators called over the loud speaker, "It's not his fault he looks so stupid," which got even more laughter.

Chrono Warrior's face appeared in one of the screens in Ezekiel's pod.  "That's your kaiju!  It looks like some kinda space chicken!  You expect to win with a kaiju like that!"  Ezekiel looked back at his opponent, "Appearances can be deceiving my friend."

With an ear-shattering roar, GKG released a salvo of gravity beams at Guilala.  The bird-like kaiju simply stood in place and took the attack.  The beams ripped Guilala into bits, all the little pieces falling to the ground.  "HA!  That was it!  I've seen Kamacuras that take hits better than that!  What a joke, I wasted my time even fighting you," exclaimed Chrono Warrior.  As Chrono Warrior continued to jeer at Ezekiel and his "dead" kaiju, the bits of Guilala started to glow.  With a brilliant flash, each piece became a burning ball of plasma!  GKG stood with his back to his opponent, roaring in victory.  Suddenly, the roars of triumph were turned to howls of pain.  The plasma balls seared through Ghidorah's body, leaving several smoldering holes.  The energy balls reformed into Guilala, who seemed to smirk at his opponent.  Ghidorah fired a volley of beams at Guilala, who simply held out his claw and bent the beams back on themselves.  The rays were sent right back to their origin, Ghidorah's throat.  GKG started to cough up blood and fell to his knees, then slumped over.

The commentator, after a moment or two of silence, suddenly yelled "Amazing!  That is quite possibly one of the fastest KOs in ARena history!  The winner, Guilala!"  The crowd, who had been staring in disbelief, suddenly came alive with cheers and applause.   Chrono's face appeared again on Ezekiel's screen.  "That's... impossible!  Grand King Ghidorah... has never lost!"  Ezekiel responded quietly, "Perhaps you needed a lesson in humility, my friend."

The agents watched the entire battle unfold.  "Doesn't that Ezekiel remind you of someone?" asked Awsome 1.  Drag looked oddly at the victor.  Somehow, he sensed something familiar about him.
