THE WAR OF FATE

Part Two: The Dark Citadel

Chapter Seven: The Gathering Armies

Back in the jumbo jet, the agents huddled around Dragitron as he spoke.  "As you know, tonight is the night that Samrong intends to unleash Bagan's dark powers on the world.  I received information from Black16 that is crucial to our mission."

"And what info would that be?" GWB asked.  "We already know about opening the Abyss."

Drag stared sternly at GWB.  "If he opens that Abyss, not only will Levah be freed, but an entire army of evil spirits will return from the grave.  It will truly be Hell on Earth.  And that isn't even the half of it!  The very universe itself will be on the verge of collapse!"

At that moment, everyone's jaw dropped.  "The... the universe?" UG90 managed to utter.  Drag nodded at the young agent.  "If we fail, everyone and everything is doomed."

A loud bang, like the sound of a toy gun, turned all of their heads.  The agents rushed outside of the Green Jester, only to be confronted by Black16 and a small group of beings that looked just like him.  Drag shook Black16's hand.

"THIS is all you have to offer us?" Ness asked, seemingly annoyed.  "Fifty of you," he said, pointing at Black16, "against thousands of them?!"  Black16 nodded.  "We were blindsided by the Khawlal in the ethereal plane.  Until the others regain their physical forms, we ARE the army."

The sound of a large drop ship flying nearby caused everyone to look up.  It was a United States Army Mech Division drop ship.  The same one that landed on Agency Isle that fateful day.

The back of the ship opened as the engine died down.  A loud clanging sound could be heard emanating from the bowels of the ship.  A rather large mech exited the craft, supported on sturdy mechanical legs and a torso that could rotate 360 degrees with ease.  Its arms were long and jointed, ending in machine guns.  Inside the chest cockpit was the pilot.  It was General Rampage.

"Did I catch you all at a bad time?" the General asked as his mech troops exited the drop ship.  GWB walked over to the mech and rapped on it with his fist.  "The Gold Steed is still holding up after all these years?" he asked jokingly.  Rampage used his mech's arm to forcefully push GWB to the side.  "Yes, and she'd better hold a little while longer.  Now, I've got forty troops ready for battle.  That's all I was able to utilize, thanks to our wonderful government," Rampage replied, ending with a note of sarcasm.

Ness shook his head in frustration.  "Wait a minute.  Do you really think 80 agents, 50 'angels' (or whatever they are), and 40 walking tanks can plow through an army numbering in the thousands?  Not to mention, we've got to deal with Samrong AND Bagan?"

Deathwing flew into the sky.  "Ness, have you forgotten?  We have our own kaiju as well!  They will provide an ample distraction while we assault the Dark Citadel."  He whistled, and a host of kaiju appeared from over the horizon.  Gigan, Fire Rodan, Space Godzilla, Super MechaGodzilla, Gabara, Megalon, and Manda made their way to the battleground, eager for battle.

"That reminds me," Drag said, and he reached into his pocket.  The familiar form of Fairy Mothra flew out and into the sky, fluttering on rainbow-colored wings.  "Even the smallest can be of some assistance."

Rampage smiled momentarily.  "I also brought something extra."  He pointed in the direction from which the kaiju appeared.  What looked like a small army marched forward, and behind them were kaiju of every shape and size.  "I made a few calls to the folks who joined the WKAT.  They were eager to help out."

Ness was astonished and totally speechless.  Black16, however, couldn't shake the feeling that somehow, some way, this was planned from the start.
