Ryo

Another member of the King of Fighters family. He is the son of Takuma, the creator of Kyokugen Karate. Ryo first appears in the Art of Fighting series and quickly becomes a staple of the KOF series.

Strategy: The best way to fight as Ryo is to take the initiative and don't let up on the attacks. If the enemy can control the tempo of the fight, you probably won't win
Battle Plan: Honestly, Ryo kind of sucks for a Ratio 2. Although he is powerful, his moves are nothing special. Almost any strategy can defeat his guy.

  • King

A women wearing a tuxedo. I have no clue as to any backstory involving King, she's just kinda there.

Strategy: Despite her odd look, King is a great fighter. She has a good set of attacks that hit at different ranges, as well as angles. No matter what direction the enemy comes, King has a counter attack that can hit them.
Battle Plan: Her Power and Defense don't match her mainly melee style. If her attacks are blocked, there is enough of a lag to counter. Slower people should play defensively.

  • Yuri

Daughter of Takuma and sister of Ryo. In AoF1, she is kidnapped by the enemy and Ryo and her boyfriend Robert save her. After being rescued, Yuri decides to learn the Kyokugen martial arts as well.

Strategy: Yuri is a good in close fighter. She has a projectile, but it has a short range. Her Rai-oh-Ken attacks cannot be blocked while ducking, making them a perfect surprise attack move.
Battle Plan: For a hand-to-hand fighter, Yuri has low power and defense stats. She may get the first hits in, but don't expect too much damage. Try to dominate the fight, not letting her get started with her combos.
    Combos:
  • Chain Combo, Rai-oh-ken
  • Launcher, Sho Upper into corner, 100 Blows

    Stats: Power: 3 Energy: 5 Defense: 4 Speed*: 7 Ratio: 2

    Special Moves:
Aqua Punch*: Throws a watery projectile. Only flies about half the screen (W)
Sho Upper*: A dragon-punch like uppercut attack.
Rai-oh-Ken*: Does a forward jump attack and smashes downward with both fists. Overhead
100 Blows: Runs forward, grabs the enemy, and slaps them 12 times across the face
Rai oh Ko Ken: Jumps straight up and throws an aqua fist down to the ground (W)
Sho Upper Double: Performs an additional Sho Upper during the first one for double the hits
Saiha: Holds up a "shield" of energy. Good for countering projectiles quickly
Hisho Ken Blitz: Winds up her arm, then dashes forward with a punch. Charge for delay and speed.
Sho Up Yuri: Leaps up with a dancer like spinning kick. Moves in an arc. 2 hits (A)
Basic Throw: Over the shoulder throw, hurls enemy across screen
    Launcher: Typical Standing uppercut

    Hyper Attacks:
Haoh Sho Kohken: Yuri throws a large projectile of water energy. 15 hits (W)
Stream Blast: A forward moving attack. Yuri does 3 S. Upper attacks. 10 hits.
Soaring Phoenix: Runs forward (C) jumps up and kicks the enemy in the head 18 times

    Enter: Tightens her shirt
Taunt: Thrust her butt out to one side, and gives a thumbs up
