Fatal Fury


This hyper combo finish results in a freeze frame of the final hit with large blue jets of light streaking out from behind the victor(s).

Terry Bogart

Terry is a fighter who fights alongside his brother, Andy, and his best friend, Joe. The threesome fights against Geese Howard, the CEO of a large corporation. Anyone else confused? This one is based on the Capcom vs SNK version of Terry.


Strategy: Terry is very versatile. Power Wave is distance, Crack Shot and Rising Tackle are anti-air, while Burst Knuckle can hit just about anything.
Battle-plan: Terry has slow recovery time if his specials miss. Also, his hypers really aren't anything special.

    Power Wave*: A ground based projectile. Slow, but combo a Burst Knuckle after it (E)
    Crack Shot*: An aerial spin kick. Jumps forward and kicks in an arc overhead
    Rising Tackle: Terry jumps straight upwards, feet first, spinning like a drill
    Power Dunk: Jumps straight up, then flies at the enemy with a punching attack
    Round Wave: Punches the ground for a projectile larger and faster than Power wave, but minimal range (E)
    Power Charge: A short ranged shoulder tackle. If it hits, the enemy is left stunned to combo.
    Basic Throw: Pulls the enemy to the ground and punches them in the head
    Launcher: A standard uppercut

    Power Geyser*: Punches the ground, and 3 angled pillars strike the enemy. 9 hits (E)
    Buster Wolf: Charges forward (C) delivers 8 punches, then a giant burst of energy. 12 hits (E)

  • Mai

    Fatal Fury's bouncy ninja girl. Mai is a friend on the Bogart brothers. Trained in the Shiranui martial arts, Mai relies on her lightning speed and sneaky use of throwing fans and random fire to win her battles. Andy and Mai have dated for years.


    Strategy: Use Mai's incredible speed to your advantage. Her specials have a small area of effect, so don't rely on them too much. Her hypers, however, are quick and have fairly large area. The Crimson Driver in particular can be quite surprising.
    Battle Plan: She may be quick, but her other stats are mediocre. If your character has decent agility, simply take the offense and don't let her use her own to full advantage. Slower characters will need to play defensive and counter her attacks.

  • Raiden

    A professional wrestler from the Fatal Fury series. Raiden often talks big, but usually can't come through with his threats.


    Strategy: Much like Zangief, Raiden is a slow behemoth. He needs to get close to the enemy to work well. However, unlike the Russian Street Fighter, Raiden can close that gap quite quickly with his Drop kick attack.
    Battle Plan: Raiden needs to be in close to use most of his moves, so keep him away with stretch attacks and projectiles.

  • Chain Combo, Poison Spray, Crush Bomb or Destro Drop
  • Trip, Belly Flop or Belly Bomb
  • Giant Bomb into the corner followed by Flame Breath

    Giant Bomb*: Crouches down, and then shoulder tackles the enemy. A lot of damage!
    Poison Spray*: Raiden spits poison out of this mouth. Short range but stuns the enemy (F)
    Crush Bomb*: Picks up the enemy for a spinning power bomb
    Drop Kick: Raiden does a flying drop kick. Can cover a lot of ground quickly
    Belly Flop: Jumps in the air and tries to land on the enemy
    Basic Throw: Picks up the enemy, stretches them across his back, runs and crushes
    Launcher: A rising headbutt

    Flame Breath*: Raiden spits out a large flame. Like Dhalsim's Tsunami Flare. 15 hits (F)
    Destro Drop: Slowly moves forward (C) and performs a hyper power bomb
    Belly Bomb: Does a belly flop attack, with 5 shadows also attacking. 6 hits

    Enter: Yells challenges at the enemy via a microphone

  • Kim Kapwan

    A master of Tae Kwon Do. Unlike most of the other characters, Kim relies on realistic attacks to obtain victory. Kim is a fighter on the side of good. He travels Asia righting wrongs and showing others that the true path to inner peace is through mastering the body.


    Strategy: Kim's attacks are for the most part realistic. This means that his combos generally flow very naturally, making them easy to do.
    Battle Plan: His realism is actually a double-edged sword. While his combos are easy to time, they are also fairly predictable to the average martial arts wannabe.

    Conquest Kick: Kim stomps his foot down forcefully. Basically worthless
    Long Dive Kick: Must be comboed after Conquest Kick. A flying kick that covers the entire screen
    Sand Blaster: Jumps upward, kicking 3 times. Flying Slice is better anti-air
    Basic Throw: Kicks the enemy twice in the face, pulls closer by an arm, and kicks out the head

  • Geese Howard

    The leader of a evil corporation (right?). Geese is the Boss of the Fatal Fury series.


    Strategy: His low speed and otherwise high stats make him perfect for a defensive style. The Body Blow technique can slam an aggressive fighter on their head before they know what hit 'em. Also, the Gale Slash and Wind Slice attacks make it hard to projectile him to death.
    Battle Plan: Geese may be one of the best defensive fighters, but he is not invincible. His main weakness is his air combat skills. He has few attacks that can stop jumping enemies.

    Body Blow*: A counter attack. The counter can either be high or low
    Geese Kick*: Jumps forward slightly with a mid-air kick. Short range, very powerful
    Gale Slash: Air only. A downward moving wind slice. Becomes the wind slice on ground (B)
    Bonus: When fighting an SNK character, Geese gains +1 to all stats
    Basic Throw: Brings both arms up from his sides, the enemy magically flies over his head.
    Launcher: A weird, underhanded uppercut

  • Kim Dong Hwan

    The eldest child of Kim Kaphwan. Unlike his noble father, who fights to promote Tae Kwon Do and good sportsmanship, Dong only looks out of himself, fighting for money without putting his heart fully into the battles he fights. He is very happy-go-lucky.


    Strategy: Dong fights very much like his father. He is slower than either Kim or Jae Hoon, but he takes punishment much better.

  • Kim Jae Hoon

    Kim Kap Hwan's Second son. Jae Hoon follows much closer to his father than his vagrant brother. His goals are to teach others the gift of the confidence gained by united body and soul in harmony. He participates in tournaments to show people the wonders of Tae Kwon Do and of a unified spirit.


    Strategy: Jae Hoon is weaker than his father and brother, but he is much faster. He fights much like either of those two, but his fighting style relies more on speed than power. The main difference is Jae Hoon's fiery attacks.

  • Hotaru Futaba

    A young woman in search for you missing brother. Nothing seems to upset Hotaru. She is always happy, regardless of circumstances. With her small pet, Eetto, she searches for her older brother to fulfill her mother's deathbed request.


    Strategy: A quick fighter with a large variety of moves. Hotaru fights well from a distance as well as up close. The key is timing. Her moves are quick, but she is left vulnerable after most of them. Hotaru does not want to miss her attacks.

    Taunt: Shakes violently and then slaps her face
    Victory: Eetto runs to her and tackles Hotaru. She holds up Eetto and giggles.

  • Gato

    Gato learned martial arts from his father at a young age. More recently, his mother died and he blames his father for causing her death. Gato knows he cannot defeat his father with his current level of skills, so he travels the world, learning new techniques so he can kill his own father.


    Strategy: Gato's moves are quite odd. Most have very short range, requiring him to be close to the enemy at all times. However, his defense could be better, meaning he may get pummeled by strong melee fighters. Best used against distance fighters.

  • Hokutomaru

    A young boy who trains in the martial arts of the Shiranui ninja clan. After several years of training, Hokutomaru believes himself to be ready for the trials of combat. He travels the world, looking to test himself against other warriors.


    Strategy: Small and speedy, Hokutomaru makes a good middle ranged fighter. His dirks give him a helpful ranged attack, but most of his abilities work best if he is a few inches away from the enemy on the screen. His tornado moves are more like counters than attacks, as they are great for swatting a jumper out of the air.

  • B. Jenet

    The leader of a band of outlaws called the Reeling Knights. She will only steal from the rich folks. Jenet figures that anyone who can sponsor a martial arts tournament must be loaded.


    Strategy: A tricky fighter. Most of her moves, make her jump either up or back, making it hard to get close to her and stay there. Her defense is low, so Jenet cannot stay close for too long.

  • Tizoc

    A native American who has been stripped of his honor. A formerly well known hero, Tizoc has donned a mask of the Griffon to hide his rage and sadness. His quest, to recover his lost glory and pride.


    Strategy: A cheap ass grappler. Tizoc's throws are hard to counter or even see coming. The Active Tupian just does not look like a throw and it is unblockable and hard to avoid. The Wave and Over O. attacks also have a large area of effect. To complete the cheap picture, Tizoc's moves also travel incredibly fast, making it nearly impossible to dodge, so you take chipping damage.

  • Freeman

    A freak of nature that lives only to fight. Freeman is sadistic in the extreme, reveling in his own pain in expectation of what he will do in return. He is alive only on the field of battle.


    Strategy: Freeman is not exactly a versatile fighter. His attacks are good with a large range, but they are slow to start. This isn't much of a hindrance, due to ducking or stepping back, but the moves don't combo. Works well at medium range.

    Nightmare*: Falls back a little, then strikes like a snake with a slash line.
    Crow*: Jumps forward and slashes downward. Must be blocked high. 2 hits
    Phobia*: Cuts from up to down with a medium ranged slash. If too close, it will not hit
    V.O.D: A short ranged, flailing slash. May be done 3 times in a row
    Morbid Angel: Does a somersault through the air. (T) and kicks off the enemy if he contacts him/her
    Basic Throw: Grabs the enemy by the head, and does a slash move

  • Butt/Marco

    Khushnood Butt is Ryo's successor to the secrets of Kyokugen Karate. Butt (named Marco in Japan) is a large man in a white gi. Butt is strong, not only physically, but mentally as well. He runs the Kyokugen dojo now that Ryo has retired.


    Strategy: Butt is a well rounded fighter. His only weakness is his slow speed, but his special moves are so fast that this weakness is almost completely overcome. With his varied ranges and techniques, Butt is deadly in the hands of a master.

    Haoh Sho Kho Ken*: Throws a fireball that fills most of the screen. Only 5 hits, but powerful (F)
    Hikokugen Koho: Dashes forward (C) for a 10 hit combo ending with a Koho
    Dragon-Tiger Fandango: 3 Levels. A Dragon Flash punch that hits 10 times. Extreme damage, but little range.

    Enter: Puts his hands up palm out and yellow energy rises up his arms.
    Taunt: Points at the enemy and grunts
    Victory: Takes his dojo's sign from behind his back and puts it in the ground

  • Kevin Rian

    Kevin is a police officer who is searching to avenge his slain partner. A veteran of the SWAT special forces, Kevin is a force to be reckoned with. He isn't alone though. The son of his dead partner tags along to cheer Kevin on and give him a little help once in a while.


    Strategy: Kevin is a tough guy. He is slow with fairly slow moves, but he can take a lot of punishment. His chargable moves can be an advantage if used properly, practically making the enemy walk right into his fists.

    Support Man: The kid with Kevin might throw healing items at Kevin when he is in critical.
    Basic Throw: The basic over the shoulder judo throw
    Launcher: For some reason, he does a rising high kick

    Lucky Strike*: Ducking low, Kevin charges forward with fire then does an uppercut. Launcher. 5 hits (F)
    Gatling Freeze: Does a high kick, sending a wave of fire upwards. 5 hits (F)
    Personal Petard: Jumps forward (C) kicks the enemy several times, then finishes with a Hell Trap. 10 hits (F)

    Enter: Tightens his jacket and starts dancing (battle stance)
    Taunt: Tightens his gloves
    Victory: Puts his hands on his hips, then the kid runs over to him.

  • Grant

    A sorcerer who likes fighting beyond all else. Having sold his soul for the powers he wields, the few who know about him believe he is a sign of the coming Armageddon. Grant's goals are simple, destroy all worthy opponents.


    Strategy: Grant lives up to his fearsome appearance. Grant is the master of defensive fighting. The Ebony Flame Wave can stop dashing enemies as well as jumping enemies. The Raven Razor is also a good anti-air move. Play Grant on the defense.

  • Kain Heinlein

    A local kingpin. Kain has taken control of most of the city of Second Southtown. His wish is to transform the world, one piece at a time, into a world where only the strongest can survive. To him, the strong are entitled to anything that they can take.


    Strategy: Kain's moves have high priority, meaning his attacks will often beat out similar moves by his enemies. If your opponent does a long range dash move, the Schwarz Panzer or Schwarz Recht will counter it. A cheap fighter.
