The Order of DeMolay is a youth organization for young men whose purpose is the building of better
citizens. The main purposes of the Order are the building of better citizens and creating leaders through the development of character in
young men. The youth movement bolsters a boy's character by emphasizing the virtues of filial love, reverence , courtesy, comradeship,
fidelity, cleanness and patriotism.
The entire program of the Order revolves around these seven cardinal principles. DeMolay does not attempt
to take the place of the home, church or school, but rather to supplement with a supporting program of teaching good citizenship to its members.
The governing body of the DeMolay Movement is the Supreme Council, Order of DeMolay and the first chapter
to be established was the Jose Abad Santos Chapter, Order of DeMolay, sponsored by Philippine Bodies, A. & A.S.R.. It was instituted on March 23, 1946.
As of date, there are now 64 DeMolay Chapters all over the Philippines.
