Drug Czar Uses Super Bowl to Push Drug War Lies
Lawsuit Filed to Bankrupt Suspects in Sept.11...
February 20, 2002
WASHINGTON–The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) spent $3.4 million to air two 30-second antidrug spots during the Super Bowl, the largest single government ad purchase in history.
The ads, which alleged that the illegal drug trade fuels terrorism–one depicted teenage drug users saying things like "I helped kill a judge"–are paid for by the White House’s much-criticized "National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign." The campaign is a five-year, $1.5 billion program approved by Congress in 1997 to allow the Drug Czar’s office to purchase advertising.
"These advertisements, as well as this entire campaign, is a colossal waste of taxpayers’ money," charged Keith Stroup, director of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. "It is patently absurd to suggest that marijuana-smokers are in any way supporting terrorism. The overwhelming majority of marijuana consumed in this country is domestically grown or imported from Mexico, Jamaica or Canada. It does not come from or finance terrorist regimes in Afghanistan or other potentially hostile nations."
"Does the ONDCP expect young people to believe that behind every dime bag is Osama bin Laden?" asked Ricky Bradford, president of Florida State University NORML (NORML is a group that seeks the legalization of Marijuana). "If you follow that logic, any American buying consumer goods from China is responsible for the Tiananmen Square massacre." (That might actually be closer to the truth.) Or, you might add, any American who paid taxes in the ‘80s supported terrorism, because al-Qaeda has deep roots in the US-funded Afghani mujahedeen. (Their notorious tunnel complex near Khost was built by a Saudi contractor named Osama… you can guess the rest.)
Last year, the Drug Czar’s media campaign came under fire when it was discovered that officials had secretly sponsored network programming with antidrug themes and influenced television scripts. A 2001 GAO report found financial improprieties between the ONDCP and the advertising firm Ogilvy & Mather–who produced many of the antidrug ads, including those for this year’s Super Bowl. Do you know what the ugliest part of this scene is? In essence WE paid for the fucken thing! It makes you re-evaluate your government in many ways. Did George Bush really have JFK killed? Is Roswell really a launchpad for homosexual aliens living in different galactical territories? Maybe they stopped David Koresh because he was using one of "their" ideas. Beware of programming you watch on network television, those Nazis might be trying to brainwash you into loving your wife more, obeying traffic laws, and by no circumstances EVER will you want to buy and smoke narcotics in the comfort of your own home. I'm calling for an uproar of attempts to dethrone the US government. We'll start first by producing our own postal stamps and then demand that the post office honors them! And for Christs' Sake if you're going to buy drugs, BUY AMERICAN!
But enough of that..... Have you heard the latest developments on Sept.11th? Yes that's right, victim's families have filed a class-action lawsuit for $100 billion, naming Osama Bin Laden, Al Quaeda, and the Taliban as the defendants. Do these sick fuckers really think they are going to get this fucker to pay them $100 billion?! So, as you all know, I'm no lawyer, but what the hell is this accomplishing? And how in the hell are you going to serve Osama his subpoena? Another "senseless act," in a long line of idiotic stories relating to 9-11. One of the plaintiffs said that, they want to "cripple Bin Laden and other suspects so that this can't happen again." Apparently these fine American citizens have faith in our judicial system! What will this accomplish other than numerous Tonight Show jokes spewed from the mouth of that giant chin. In a more realistic case of this nature, does anyone know if Fred Goldman got that $100,000,000 (or whatever ridiculous amount that was) from OJ (the civil suit)? If its that hard to collect $100 mill, how hard do you think it would be to get $100 billion? Is it possible that they could actually win this sick case? Cuz, if OJ got away with it, who is to say that if Osama actually showed up for his court appearance that Johnny Cochran wouldn't get him off? Christ, they had DNA, shoeprints, and his alibi was he was chipping golf balls in the pitch dark while his limo waited outside for him..... We've seen video tapes with Osama, but its always translated into English by who? Shit, I hope they get that camel-fucker into court just so I can watch Court TV again, there haven't been any Menendez Bros., or Unibomber, or OJ thing for a while. One plaintiff, Fiona Havlish, said, "Our goal is simple. We want to prevent all those responsible for our losses from ever inflicting such pain upon others." HOLY SHIT! That is simple, someone fire Bush Jr. and get this intellectual mammoth into office immediately! Hold all her calls and get her on national television to unveil the new "War on Terrorism, The War in the Courtroom!" He's been sending tanks, troops, bombers, fighter jets, when this was the real answer all along..... I wish more Americans had the same insight....
