Bond polarity and dipole movement
If the bonding electrons are not shared equally in a covalent bond, then the bond will be polar.
Bond Polarity is determined by the relative difference in electronegativity between two atoms that are joined together by a chemical bond. A dipole results from an unequal distribution of the electron pair in the bond between the atoms.
Dipole Movement
Dipole movement is a property of a molecule whose charge distrubution can be represented by a center of positve charge and a center of negative charge.
