the empress of india

I had so many big plans for my 2 weeks in Melbourne; Collingwood-Richmond at the Telstra Dome, Angie Hart at Northcote, Delgados at the Corner, numerous sightseeing things. And how many of them did I get through? None, 'cos I was getting drunk in The Empress, Melbourne's answer to the 13th Note. Don't get me wrong, I've had a great time in Melbs, and I certainly enjoyed all the time I spent in a certain pub in north fitzroy. And I even got a chance to redeem myself on my last night here when I found out Tugboat, one of my fave obscure melbs bands, were playing at the Empress, my fave obscure melbs venue. But what happened? Everyone made a big effort to make the most of my last night for me, I was blind long before the gig and I wandered off home early. Even with a gig in my favourite venue I still managed to stuff up and miss it. Felt quite bad about it after all the crew there had taken me under their wing and shown me round, looked after me etc. and it wasn't the happiest end to my fortnight here, still, life goes on. And if you're ever in Melbourne, 714 Nicholson Street is the place to go...

this is the culprit!
