I ditched school today and I am glad that I did, because otherwise
I would have missed Bill Gates' appearance on Regis and Kelly.
After watching this asshole being interviewed for about 5 minutes,
it became clear that I should have a vomit bucket within arms
reach. For the entire interview, my eyes were trained on the
part of the tv that was still visable over the paper bag I was
breathing into.
First, it's worth mentioning that Regis kept calling the OS
XP Windows, which was annoying to begin with. But the nauseating
part about the whole thing was the snow job that The Gate was
giving the american people. He kept talking about how XP was
the operating system to beat all operating systems, and how this
OS will revolutionize the way we use computers...sound a little
like the keynote speech to anyone else but me? Anyway, then he
went on to say that this OS will be completely Crash-Free and
because it is so structurally sounds, it will save the average
person 1 week a year in time...gage me. He was talking about
being able to organize pictures and sounds any way you want to.
After he said that, something occured to me...YOU CAN ALLREADY
DO THAT IN BOTH WINDOWS 9x AND OS 9. Oh, and I got one for you
Anubis, he was also talking about the new microsoft hardware/software
that involves organizing music in mp3 form and being able take
it with you anywhere you go, as it will be able to dock with
any machine that has the software...this piece of hardware is
said to have a hard drive...sound familiar?
They went on to talk about The Gate's stronghold. He talked
about morphing picture frames, supercomputers, and other technologically
awsome stuff. Then I had to sit through 10 minutes of them talking
about The Gate's other endevours and ventures, in addition to
listening to Regis tell america that he doesn't know computers
at all and that the windows environment should have voice recognition
and response because he needs someone to talk to.
Conclusion: I should have gone to school.
