Here are a few handy aliases; they mainly have to do with keeping tabs, CPK, or something along those lines. They help to create a second sense for CPK and being aware of the mud and what’s going on. You do not necessarily need to have the same command for the alias, however. You can use whatever you want; for example I may use: 'alias {gg} {who -z}' you could go with 'alias {tt} {who -z}, whatever works for you. Nevertheless, these are important! I'll also put up a few reminders/trips/tricks and stuff about NPK/CPK/Looting with this post.

First the Aliases: (I'm going to skip all of the {} Brackets. Be smart and fill them in yourselves.)

alias gg who -z
alias jj scan
alias tt trap wire
alias rip grep RIP clanwho 2
clanwho 5
clanwho 4
alias uu clanwhere
Alias chk clanwho 2
clanwho 5
clanwho 4

These are just a few. You might be able to create more. The purpose of this group is to stay aware of what’s going on at all times with enemy clans and even with our own.

If you see a group of 2/5's fighting formed, it might be interesting to see where, especially if they start dying. Also, if you see a clan member in CPK with ‘clanwhere’, then it is a good idea to be aware of it, whether or not the enemies are formed, and to have the swalk to that location, if he needs you. Aliases are your friend, never hesitate to make them! They could be the factor on whether or not you get the initiative attack in CPK, whether you get to a zone first in CPK etc…

Furthermore, here are a few simple reminders for CPK etc:
If you plan on looting, MAKE SURE YOU CAN HANDLE THE WEIGHT. Check 'score'(sc) to make sure you can hold more than 25 weight or so. Otherwise you may attempt to loot and you won't get the item, but you will get the lag, which brings me to loot lag:

In CPK, if you loot an item, regardless of whether the loot is successful or not, you will get LOOT LAG which lasts roughly one minuet or so. It is where you are paralyzed and unable to do nothing. [Similar to skill/spell lags... only significantly longer.]

Furthermore, if you own or carry a 'portable hole', make this alias or something similar 'alias hh hold hole'. So as soon as you are ready to loot, HOLD YOUR PORTABLE HOLE! Otherwise you cannot support the weight to loot.
Now, when someone is RIP in CPK, regardless of how you get there, its time to loot. Make sure you look at the person, find an appropriate keyword for a lootable item, call out the loot so no one else takes it, check your weight, and steal it by typing: steal

'Loot seeker' doesn't work. Make sure you type out a good keyword! If the item/word you attempt to loot doesn't match up with the RIP person's gear, then you will get:

They don't seem to have that.

BAM! LOOT LAG FOR NOTHING! [Which would ultimately suck.]

Be smart and safe in CPK! Use these tactics as well: When gearing up to explore/relic/enter CPK for any reason, bring some tripwires, recall potions IN YOUR INVENTORY, cure blind potions IN YOUR INVENTORY, and your trusty aliases. Before entering the first CPK room, check your 'gg' or 'who -z' alias a few times. Give it a second or two between each check to insure you are alone, but still be cautious! People can hide. Now use your 'jj' or 'scan' alias a few times to check if someone is awaiting for you in CPK. Last but not least, jump into CPK, and utilize your 'tt' or 'trap wire' in maybe the first room or two of the zone. This way, if someone comes in after you, they might hit the trap, enabling you to sleep, stab, or kill them or last if you are deep in the zone, use traps here and there, sort of as markers, if someone is following you, and they hit a trap you will be able to see them in the zone on 'gg' 'who -z'. This is why traps are beautiful. Which brings me to the last portion. [And if you’re stupid, like Jala, who didn’t go thief, then you should read the next section anyway because chances are you will hit a trap sometime during your Exile career and when you finally do, you’ll be in CPK with some superman of our enemy clan and that would really suck.]

TRAPS
There are multiple types of traps, ranging from one to five. One being the lame traps one can get from a newbie zone, three being tripwires, and five being snares. Tripwires work well enough, but snares are the better traps. Snares load on the Umber Hulk [Aggressive, hits pretty hard, charges and does other un-fun stuff. Off the top of my head, he’s evil, but he could be neutral.] and you can steal them from him. [Unless you’re Jala who can’t steal, but you can’t trap so you wouldn’t need the snare anyway] The snare traps people more often and does more damage when they try escaping from it.

This is how traps work, many of you know, but do not understand the entirity of traps:
You set a trap, its now hidden, ANYONE/ANYTHING aside from you, can trigger the trap, this includes MOBS, PETS, CLANNIES, ENEMIES. If they trigger the trap, they CANNOT MOVE until they escape. EVERYONE can escape, the Nbl's have a skill so they receive less lag/no damage, but EVERYONE can ESCAPE. If you hit a trap ESCAPE RIGHT AWAY, otherwise you are in trouble. Which means, if you see someone trapped, INITIATE COMBAT on them [Unless he/she is a member of an allied clan or within your own clan or if you know you, for sure, will get screwed over because you are a level 2 citizen and the trapped person is a level 164 constant horrific hitting Illusionist with about -200 ac] because people can not escape from a trap while in combat! While trapped, you cannot move, recall, or leave in anyway, until you escape. When you do escape, you receive some damage, and roughly 3-4 rounds of lag, this is a very vulnerable time.

Now, I cannot think of much else, odds are I might revise this post with updates here and there. Input is welcome, please ask questions, the more you know, the more help you are, and the higher you will progress in Exile.
Good luck, be safe, and wreck shop.
