Subterrenea
Clothing and boot store that sells goth fashions, mostly Lip Service. They carry more things for guys (besides t-shirt blah) than the Look, and Dan LePan kicks some major ass when you're bored and wandering around. The jewelry selection is probably the best in Alaska. The boots are excellent quality, but lack a little in the feminine styles. Located at 608 West 4th Avenue.
The Look
A raver/punk/goth/normal dude store. Their goth clothes come in impossible sizes (I'm 5'2" and I wear a Large there) and aren't of very good quality. They have some cute shirts in the punk section, and they have very nice shoes for girls. The best thing they have is the BDSM gear, which is extensive, but you have to work around the gross old housewives to get to it. In the Metro Mall.
Indica Haus
A coffee shop devoted to the hemp cause, but they're really nice and open minded. The coffee is great and they have big comfy couches and futons. The folk music might aggravate some, but it's a neat place to go just to talk with friends and not be looked at funny. 2603 Spenard Road.
New Sagaya and Kaladi Bros.
The Kaladi Bros. have good tea, and the workers tend to be on the non-conformist side. Lots of other subcultures tend to be here shopping, and they have some neat animal parts in the freezer to laugh at. 3700 Old Seward Highway.
The Square
It's just that little cement park by the Performing Arts Center, but in the summer, many goths and other wackos lie around on the grass. Don't ask me why, but you can meet friends there. Beware, though, because some of the goths there are the "I want to kill myself! What do you mean, smile? I wrote some poetry..." kind.
