Notes: This piece was written after concentrating on a magickal ability known as automatic writing. This is when, you put your thoughts on paper and literally let it go. Your hand writes before you know what you are going to write. My best work has always come from this method, and I hope you enjoy this piece.

"My Reflection"
Standing in front of the Mirror, from the outside looking within Searching the eyes staring back at me Questioning the looks they're giving me

Reaching up my hands touching them to the mirror Momentarily, flesh melds with glass and I am pulled within

Now I roam freely with this reflection in the mirror Throught the lands of fantasy, hopes and dreams

I do not look back at the world I left behind I only look forward to what lies before us

Stopping the vast openess laying down to watch the sky I see the lightening streaking through and yet I feel no raindrops

The sun begins to set in the land of dreamers And I continue to roam, my reflection at my side

We walk this land, side by side hand in hand, our hearts guide us There is little need for speaking We can read each other's minds

The hours fly so quickly in this land, and yet I feel no hunger I feel thirst but it is quenched We stop to rest

Laying in the openess, in one another's arms Staring up at the sky, it's star-lit eyes shine back down and peace reigns We close our eyes lost in time

Our bodies seemingly melt together Our spirits are intwined Lost in this realm that is only us never desiring to return

Then slowly the sun peaks over the horizon It is at this time we both know I must make my return I must return, to my side of the mirror

Sadly, we walk back the way we came still side by side, still hand in hand Still, no words passing between us only the saddened eyes speak volumes

When we finally reach the mirror we stand and face each other our eyes are locked, all speaking goes through them

We embrace, a tender passionate warm and loving embrace the embrace too, like our eyes speaks volumes

Our souls have intwined once more Our bodies have melted together We stand, lost in the sands of time Until we know, the time has come

We release each other reluctanlty a look of sadness evident once again both of our faces, masks of pain with heavy hearts, we must part

We bid each other farewell the only word spoken, a lingering kiss summing up the rest and we gaze at one another

we are lost in each other saddened but joyous lonely but hopeful forever dreamers and wishmakers

I slowly turn, reaching out my hands grasping the mirror as I did before and so I have returned

I look back at my reflection saddened by their look I reach out my hands but now, I feel only glass

I continue to stand, searching wondering, wishing, hoping slowly the reflection begins to fade and my own eyes stare back at me

I slowly walk away, knowing full well, that I shall return and when I do, I shall see you there my reflection in the mirror.

The Hourglass of Life
lost dreams, broken hearts, fading, undiying wishes
all grains of sand in the hourglass
missed opportunities, distant goals, roads untravelled
all grains of sand in the hourglass
good bye sweet love, farewell my fondest friend, for you are now
all grains of sand in the hourglass

grains of sand in the hourglass, slipping through, piling up
look at the growing mound in the bottom
look at the diminishing grains in the top
grains of sand in the hourglass

sweetest memories, first loves, first kisses
all grains of sand in the hourglass
the last dance, goals achieeved, the birth of your first child
all grains of sand in the hourglass
your first movie, that greates work---finished, graduation
all grains of sand in the hourglass
your wedding day, that winning proposal, your promotion
all grains of sand in the hourglass

grains of sand in the hourglass, slipping through, piling up
look at the growing mound in the bottom
look at the diminishing grains in the top
grains of sand in the hourglass

unsung songs, unfinished books, scripts left untouched
all grains of sand in the hourglass
melodies without harmony, songs without lyrics
all grains of sand in the hourglass
sunrises and sunsets, unwatched
all grains of sand in the hourglass

grains of sand in the hourglass, slipping through, piling up
look at the growing mound in the bottom
look at the diminishing pile in the top
grains of sand in the hourglass

the first time you had sex
all grains of sand in the hourglass
your 16th birthday
all grains of sand in the hourglass
your first day of high school
the first time you were ever away from the security and comfort of your mother
all grains of sand in the hourglass

like tears washed away in the rain, like an echo in Grand Canyon, like sand in the desert
all of these memories, these cherished moments,
the heartaches, the pain, the depression, the endless streams of tears
the love, the hate, the light and the dark
all grains of sand in the hourglass of life
