Simon slowly stretched and looked over at Robert, smiling as his friend, band-mate, and lover snored gently, still sleeping. He kissed him, then slipped out of bed and headed to the bathroom, shivering a little as the cold air hit him.
Summer was definitely over.
Done, he hurried back to bed and slipped back under the covers, snuggling against Robert to get warm again.
Robert yawned and peered at Simon with sleepy eyes. "Morning, Si..."
"Morning," Simon murmured, quickly curling up into Robert's arms, snuggling against him. "It’s cold out there," he added, looking up at him and kissing his nose teasingly.
"Summer's over now." Robert said, looking out the window at the turning leaves.
"Mmmhmm," Simon hummed softly, resting his head on Robert's chest. "It’s all right, though. I love fall. Love how the leaves change color and everything's so pretty," he said with a little smile.
"Am I pretty?" Robert tickled Simon’s side, lightly.
"You're beautiful," Simon purred, nuzzling against him and kissing him lightly. "Even better than the leaves."
"I should hope so!" Robert said, kissing Simon's lips softly.
"But not more than me.” he teased with a little smile, looking up at him and kissing him again, snuggling even closer to his lover.
“I suppose that’s fair.” Robert chuckled.
"I’m your idea of hunkiness, right?" Simon laughed, wrapping his arms around Robert's neck.
"Now when did I say that?” Robert grinned. "I suppose so."
"Just remembering," Simon laughed, flushing a little and burying his face in Robert's hair, kissing the softness lightly.
"Mmm..." Robert laughed, kissing his way down Simon's throat.
"Mmmm. Can we stay here all day? It’s warm," Simon murmured, shivering a little, this time with pleasure.
"We don’t have any shows today...” Robert purred, sliding a hand down Simon’s side.
Simon moaned softly and arched into him, running his hands along Robert's back.
"Mmmm. Me, either," he purred. "Boris and Porl are off in town, God knows where Lol is. Got the whole hotel room to ourselves..."
Robert smiled. "I like shopping in this city. It’s very nice, and at least the stores have cut back on how much you need to pay for things.” he squeezed Simon’s hipbone, tracing down to his groin.
"Oh!” Simon moaned, panting and arching forward a little. "It’s...oh! So much cheaper now. I hope they’re having f-fun…
"Not as much as we’ll be having..." Robert laughed, biting down softly on Simon’s neck.
“Oh! Robert…” Simon moaned, arching under him, wrapping his arms around his band-mate’s back. “Please…”
“At least you’re polite,” Robert teased, before sliding between Simon’s thighs and taking the bassist into his mouth.
Simon gasped, hands shoved into the singer’s hair, tangling hard and pushing down. He bucked into his friend’s lush, wet mouth, the heat driving him mad in contrast with the cool September air on his skin.
“Robert…” he groaned, desperately trying to get deeper. Getting the message, Robert took as much in as he could, nose pressed against Simon’s warm skin, using his back teeth over the head.
With a shriek of pleasure, Simon came, hips trying to jerk about but held trapped by his friend’s strong hands. He sobbed; Robert kept sucking gently, long after he’d come. Eventually he came up, kissing the bassist.
"Love you," Simon murmured softly, pressing against his lover.
"And you. So much." Robert purred, pushing Simon over to straddle him.
"I never want to leave you again. Love you more than life," Simon murmured, gasping with pleasure as Robert bit down on his throat.
Robert pulled off with a kiss, sitting up, suddenly very serious.
"You mean that?" he asked, smiling slyly and reaching into a drawer.
"You know I do," Simon murmured, leaning up and kissing him, thinking Robert was going for the hand creams that the hotel always stocked in the side drawer. "I love you, Robert. Love you forever."
Robert pressed Simon back, kneeling, as he removed a small box from the drawer.
"Simon..." he opened the box, exposing a beautiful gold ring, ”...will you marry me?"
Simon looked up at Robert, then quickly sat up, completely stunned.
"R-Robert? Are you s-serious?" Simon asked softly, his eyes locked on the small box in his lover's hands.
Robert's smile faltered slightly.
"S-Simon? D-don't you...want...I...I mean...I..."
Simon quickly shook his head to clear it, leaning up and wrapping his arms around Robert's neck, kissing him lovingly.
"Robert, I love you," he purred. "Yes, Robert. Yes, I want to marry you," he said, smiling uncontrollably, kissing his friend again.
The singer was in tears, kissing Simon back lovingly, wrapping his arms around his love.
"I was so afraid you'd say no..."
"I love you, Robert. I want to be with you the rest of my life," Simon whispered, resting his cheek on Robert's chest and nuzzling against him. "I was just surprised. More than surprised," he admitted with a smile. "I didn't know what you wanted. I wasn't even sure it was possible."
"Who cares about legal. We’ll find a way, someone, somewhere.”
"Never thought anything like this would be possible," Simon said with a big grin, smiling and laughing with happiness, wrapping his arms around his lover. His fiancé. His Robert.
Robert pulled his lover backwards, falling back onto the bed, laughing and kissing the bassist. "Oh, Simon, you've made me so happy..."
"I feel like I'm about to burst out of my skin," he said with a little laugh, snuggling in Robert's arms. "God, I love you so much, Robert. I want to be with you forever."
"We can be, now." he kissed Simon lovingly.
Simon laughed and picked up the ring from the bed, looking at it almost reverently.
“I never saw you buy this," he said with a little smile, leaning up and kissing Robert lovingly.
"I had it special fit for your hand..." Robert whispered, taking it out and slipping it onto Simon's ring finger. "See?"
Simon let out a shuddery breath and looked down at the ring, his eyes tearing up with happiness.
"It's beautiful, Robert," he whispered, quickly wiping away tears of happiness. It fit him perfectly, so fucking perfect on his hand.
Robert’s eyes teared up again. "We can try and look around right away, find some way. I just have to know, so that we can tell the others..."
"Soon," Simon said with a little smile, looking up at Robert and kissing him again. "I can't wait to be married to you. Forever."
"Yeah..." Robert said, kissing Simon sweet and long, his hands finding his lovers'.
Simon purred and leaned up, kissing him back just as deeply, twining his hands with Robert's, the ring glinting between their fingers.
Robert ran his hands down Simon's back and sides, hugging his lover to him.
"Love you more than anything."
Simon giggled, shivering softly. “Can we order room service? I want breakfast in bed!”
“Anything for my bride-to-be.” Robert teased, reaching for the phone. Simon attacked him with a pillow, laughing, and they rolled off the bed, receiver hanging off the hook.
“Hello, yes, this is room service…hello? Hello?”
