Welcome. This small page is dedicated to telling you just who Daniel Molloy is. You might remember him best as the boy from Interview with the Vampire. The intrepid reporter who was granted an interview with Louis de Pointe du Lac in a small New Olreans apartment. After the tale was done, Daniel begged Louis for immortality. Louis drank from him, and left Daniel for dead.
.Daniel then went in search of Lestat's lair. He found it easily enough from the description Louis gave him. But Armand found him, and threatened him, before leaving him. Later Armand made conact with Daniel, telling the man he would be Armand's link to this century. Armand lavished affection and wealth onto Daniel, giving him everything he could possibly desire. Armand asked for little in return save companionship. Daniel adjusted to this new life, Armand dragging him form place to place.
But eventually, Daniel couldn't handle it. He tried to flee Armand, but the vampire always found him. They traveled all over the world, and finally Armand had constructed a great glass city in Florida, called the Night Island. Daniel begged again and again to be given the Dark Gift, but Armand refused. Daniel accused Armand of using him, claiming the vamprie saw him as nothing more then a toy. Armand could do nothing to change Daniel's mind, until the mortal began to die. Daniel turend to drink in the last years, and his body began to deteriorate. He was near death, and Armand went back on all the vows he'd made and turned Daniel into a vampire
Daniel appears first in Interview with the Vampire. He is unamed, referred to only as "the boy". Then he appears again with a main role in Queen of the Damned. We learn his story, and he is brought over into the life of a vampire. Then, despite the fact that Armand shows up in later books, we hear nothing of daniel except a few mentions in the Vampri Armand, where Armand tells us that Daniel detests his makers company, and regrets his vampiric nature. I personally find that hard to beleive. Daniel was fully and totally in love with his new life in the end of Queen of the Damned.
But that's just my opinion. Despite the fact that many say Daniel is a minor character, he is my favorite and I love him with all my heart.
