Many fundamental Christians always preach to those that do not agree with their religious beliefs to follow the bible because they claim things that the book can help people out like learning how to be moral, being nice to people, how to be in a loving relationship, etc. However, the question that I want to ask is, do the christians themselves follow anything the bible really tells them? Because from my experience with many christians, I rarely see any of them that go around and preach to everyone to follow their religious book follow it themselves. Here on this web page I will show you some of the rules that are in the bible, and how I see many fundamental christians not following these rules.
BTW, those of you that like to blow things out of porportion, I am not contradicting myself and using the bible as a source to the point that I'm trying to make. I am using it to only discredit the christian religion and the bible itself.
"And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by men. Truly, I say to you they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room (or closet.) and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret..." MATHEW 6:5-6 RSV.
In other words, if christians are going to pray, then they need to do it in a private manner and not in public in order to try to make themselves feel righeous. They continously pray in public places like churches, street corners, schools, government offices, and so on, yet none of them bother to stop and think that they are insulting their beloved fictional character Jesus. Of course many christian do this at an attempt to promote their religion, which all they are doing is making themselves look like idiots to me.
This bible verse is pretty much self-explanatory (unlike some other parts of the bible that makes no sense). Women are suppose to be quiet in churches. They are not to say one word. Yet, I have seen on many christian channels and in churches in the past where women have led prayer services, preach about how great the lord is and so on.
Another bible verse for women:
Timothy 2:9 RSV; and "Let not yours be the outward adorning of braiding of hair, decoration of gold, and wearing of fine clothing"-- 1 Peter 3 :3.
This bible states that christian women are supposed to dress discreetly. They are not to make themselves look good fashionably with things like braided hair, wearing any type of jewlery or any costly attire like something you get out of "victoria's secret." (for more info on what the bible states about women, see my "The Bible on Women section).
This bible verse means that christians are not suppose to plan are prepare for anything. Only their god will do that. Many Christians I know go around and plot things like starting a convention to convince more suckers to join their religion.
This bible verse applies to those that are married or planning on getting married to their soon to be spouses. Many christians try to twist bible verses like these, but it is clear that they cannot divorce someone once they are married. It also says that you cannot marry a person that is divorced as well because it is considered adultery.
"whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery" Matthew 5:32.
There is one exception to this rules though. A person can divorce if his/her spouse go out with another person:
"Whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery" Matthew 5:32.
The funny thing about this is that since christianity if the dominate religion here in the US, studies show that the divorce rate in the christian population is higher than any other people in a religion. Most of the time the divorce rate is high like that because difference among the spouses and the spouses not getting along with each other, not because of adultery or anything else.
The problem with this is that many fundamental christians always go around, preaching to people about how good their religion is, claiming that people can only have morals through their religion, and that anyone that is not in their religion is immoral and making other false claims about non-christians. Even though I am not perfect, I do not, nor have I ever (even when I was a christian) gone around and claim that my beliefs are the sources of morals and belittling those that do not agree with me, or making false promises to anyone that they can have a good life and all that other stuff that christians claims about their religion. I have not once met an atheists that claim their opinions is the sources of morals or go around and converting someone into atheism. Christians do, and offered no proof to back up their claim.
Granted, I know many christians think that I'm belitting them right now with this web site of mine about why I do not agree with them. However, I am not making myself sound like a hypocrite. I didn't create this website to belittle christians, I created this website to state my opinions on why I do not agree with their religious beliefs and to inform others that have an open mind about this subject. Just like christians can go around and state their opinions (whether it be on the news, in public, on a website, etc.) on why they do not agree with atheists and other non-christians. Also, since many christians are the one's that started the belitting of those that do not agree with them in the first place, then I don't see the point in them making complaints about me or anyone else making bad comments about them.
