Asia Carrera

For today's immerview, I talked with world-famous adult film star Asia Carrera.  For those of you who don't know what a adult film is, it's a movie about stuff adult people like, like taxes and the stock market, and lookin for a babysitter.

Fuffy T:  I think the question on most peoples' minds is this:  What do you feed your cats?  I like Science Diet.  It's yummy and good for you.

Asia:  my two spoiled brats eat predominantly sheba brand cat food, and sliced turkey breast chopped up into cat-sized bits.  but they're also professional beggars, and they will eat anything that mommy eats - from bananas to marshmallows!  and i've attached a photo of tigger eating a snack that will show you just HOW badly i spoil my two little stinkers...

FT:  What do you think about the AIDS epidemic in Africa and the action that some celebrities have taken to raise awareness of it?

A:  honestly?  i can't say i've spent too many nights lying awake and worrying about the AIDS epidemic in africa.  and no, not because i'm a heartless misanthropist, but simply because there's too many problems in the world to lie awake worrying about them all, y'know?  however, i will say i have a lot of respect for celebrities who use their celebrity status to benefit charities they believe in. being a devout animal lover myself, i've been a VIP donor at my local animal shelter for many years now, and i'm very proud of the two plaques they put up to thank me for my support!

FT:  Do you see a war with Iraq to be inevitable, or is there a realistic peaceful solution?

A:  i would have thought a war with iraq was imminent until the business with north korea and their nukes unfolded recently.  now i suspect bush will be treading a bit more carefully, because i'm sure he doesn't wish to wage war on two fronts.  not only are there the financial and military considerations to consider with such a situation, but also the political repercussions - the world is already raising concerned eyebrows over our aggressiveness with iraq, and it would not strengthen our position to begin bullying another country simultaneously.  bush will have to bide his time and choose his battles wisely, or he risks losing the alliance of the few countries that are publicly supporting our actions right now.

FT:  Jaws or Deep Blue Sea?

A:  ummmm... what's 'deep blue sea'?  if it's a movie, i've never heard of it!

FT:  Do you believe humans to be basically good, basically evil, or morally neutral?

A:  basically neutral, at birth.  where they go from there depends on their upbringing.  strictly speaking, small children are capable of doing both good and bad things by society's standards, but i don't believe their actions can really be considered 'good' or 'bad' until an adult has taught them the difference!  so i'd have to say 'neutral, until they're old enough to know better, then take it on a case-by-case basis from there!'.

FT:  Who is your favorite classical composer?  I like Brahms.

A:  beethoven.  no other composer moves me the way beethoven does.  i've listened to his symphonies and sonatas countless times, yet i never tire of them.  i play beethoven's pieces on the piano to release tension and aggression the way teens will vent by blasting heavy metal music on their stereos.  i think it's amazing that someone could write music hundreds of years ago that still touches people so deeply today.  let's see how many of the current pop stars' music affects people the same way 300 years from now...

FT:  What single accomplishment are you most proud of?

A:  my website.  it's my baby!!  since 1996, over 20,000,000 people have visited my website, and it's brought me invaluable mainstream p.r., created countless new fans and loyal friends, garnered numerous 'best of the web' awards, and earns a tidy profit to boot!  being a webmaster is a fulltime job in itself, so since 1996 i've been a virtual slave to my computer, pulling endless all-nighters struggling to learn HTML, photoshop, web-merchandising, and i still dedicate most of my free time to preparing new website updates and layouts, and answering emails ad nauseum!  it's more work than most people could ever imagine (i'll do 18 hours of shooting on set, then come home at 2am and post pictures from the shoot and answer emails, then back to the set again at 8am!), but being a webmaster has definitely been the most rewarding experience of my life so far, and i'm proud that i've stubbornly remained dedicated to my site for so many years, despite the toll it takes on my (lack of) a
personal life!

hugs,
asia
