INFORMATION ON KITTIE
The Band
Kittie began back in 1996 when Mercedes and Fallon met at a gymnastics class.
Mercedes and Fallon were both musical talented and playing in the Lander's basement.
Mercedes sister Morgan soon after began playing with them and discovers her outragous vocals.
They played many cover songs, mostly Silverchair and Nirvana.
Then Tayna Chandler joined the band and Kittie was born.
They got a record deal with Artemis Records in 1998 and recorded their first album 'Spit'.
Tayna left Kittie because of personal reasons and Talena became the new Kittie Bassist.
they released a home video called "Spit in your Eye" and they toured world wide in 2000
In early/mid 2001 they worked on the new album and toured some more.
During the summer of 2001 Fallon (Lead Guitarist) left the band- because of unsaid reasons. Kittie decided Jeff Philips their guitar tech. , would be the backup guitarist when they tour, and Kittie will remain as a three member female metal band.
Kittie continues to tour nationwide, and Mercedes said in a recent interview With Anti-Mtv.com that they are probably gonna put out another home video."

Now Morgan uses homemade guitars. A guy named Reiner does them. He lives in London,(Ontario), and the guitar shop Kittie get all their supplies at, he works there, and he offered to make Morgan a guitar. He's made her two now, and he's probally going to keep on doing it. He makes them very well.

-In her spare time she likes playin the drums, playin the keyboard, hangin out with friends, workin or playin on her computer and of course playin the bass
- Talena loves her cat called Raja
- She is not religious, she believes in herself in a non-egoistic way
- She likes listening to Slipknot, Orgy and Skinny Puppy

Influence: Her first Bass guitar
- Story bout Talena's first bass: "The airline almost lost it on a flight from London. I would have shot down everybody in my path-well, not literally, but i would have wanted to, because it was my first bass. My blood was all over the neck of that thing."

- uses a B.C. Rich 5 String Widow Custom Bass w/ EP5 strings. (but also plays Keyboard and Guitar as well)
- considered to be the shyest member of the group
- switched from playing guitar to bass to replace the original bassist, Tanya, when she left the group. Talena learned bass in 6 days, she never even touched a bass before playing the first concert, which she had 6 days to get ready to join kittie.
- says she was named for a fictional princess whom "my dad read about in one of those warrior-dude books."
-How Talena joined Kittie:
Talena played in several bands before she got a phone call one nice day. It was Mercedes Lander who wanted to know if Talena was interested in joinin her band, cause the bassist (Tanya Chandler at that moment) wanted to leave the band (reasons unknown). We all know the answer of Talena. She joined. Thats the beginnin of Kittie how we know them today.
