Darkness

Darkness covers the world
Blanketing everything in black
Every person I meet
I bring out their darkness
Deep in their hearts
I make something-dark stir
They fear what I bring out
I make them face
All that they despise
Their hands shake
Their brows sweat
And I smile
For I am the darkness
I live in the night
Bask I in the shadows
The stars grip my soul
And guide my path
The moon takes my hands
And lends me strength
I blend in with the black
Absorb the night
And destroy its power
There is no spectrum
Within my shadows
I hold the truths
To the things they deny
I am the darkness
Run from me
Fear me
Hate me
For, I am darkness
