Within the darkness

I lay within the darkness
It embraces me
It makes me cold
Yet brings me comfort
I am not alone here
Laying here in darkness
I am me when I'm here
I am accepted
I am with my kin
People in darkness
We are not bad
We love just the same
The light comes
And takes away my darkness
I am alone again
Alone
Yet surrounded by people
Smiling and gleeful
People of light
They sicken my stomach
I love to return
Back to my darkness
Where I am loved
Where I belong
I am safe
I am happy
I belong
