one word that i read
or a glimpse of your grace
my shortcomings exposed
i hide my face
a man of unclean lips, i am
dwelling amongst others like me
my insecurities like naked flesh
before your mercy
my heart of stone is broken
calloused, pioused, and rather bruised
yet you call me beloved
my chains loosed
the closer i draw myself near
the closer you draw me near, as well
redeemed me from captivity
you've conquered hell
barren was the desert
unlike you, i give into temptation
your blood's good enough
for justification
though i'm incompetant
and lack in my integrity
i will go, volunteering myself
if you'll go with me
you have called me chosen
my name's enscribed on your heart
you're crafting in me a new passion
a piece of art
in my own household
in the congregation or at play
at work or in the ruins, i vow
to give your love away
