Meet your enemies Divine Divinity Intro Screens
for The Black Ring Thousands of years ago in
the land of Rivellon the Council of the Seven, which consisted of white
magicians, had formed opposition against the dark side represented by black
magicians and lost their lives in this fight. Years later, in memory of this
white council the Divine Order was founded to pass on the Wise Men's knowledge
of magic from generation to generation. In the meantime, the power of the
black magicians has been revived and expresses itself in another attempt to
attack Rivellon. The only obstacle in obtaining total power over the
fantastical world of Divine Divinity is the goddess Divine. Thus, in order to
reach their evil goal, The Black Council has to destroy this being of light.
The attempt to kill the goddess fails and during the attack she splits up into
three sources of light. These sources contain her godly powers. According to
an old prophecy of the Wise Men this power is to take control over a chosen
person, which is then to become the "marked one" to rescue Rivellon
from the evil. The gamer plays the role of the "marked one" either
as a magician, a warrior or a survivor. Today we want you to meet your
enemies, the magicians of The Black Ring, the descendants of the powerful dark
alliance the Council of the Seven once fought against. These devious and evil
magicians will challenge the gamers' character in the
fantasy-role-playing-game of Divine Divinity whenever possible and will make
him face his deepest and darkest fears... You will get reminded of these
faces... Beginning of 2002 you will be able to wander the forests of Divine
Divinity, populated by the most interesting fabulous creatures and animals.
