Invocation
This is Beltane, fullness of spring. It’s a time to open, to rise and to grow. Persephone, almost a woman now,
reaches menarche and bleeds in cycle as all women bleed. Her body is becoming a woman’s and in something new. She
plays in the flowers and all her wishes come true in the blooming of the spring. She attracts a love, the other
half of herself, and they learn passion together. All acts of love and pleasure are the Goddess’ rituals
Meditation-
Go on a journey of being born, nurtured, first smile, first passion. Watch yourself play and grow up, mature to
now. Take lots of time imaging the passion. Make a wish, the most important thing you want and see it coming true.
Hold its image in front of your heart and draw it inside. See yourself bloom with full growth, full potential realized.
Se yourself as Persephone, the Maiden Goddess. Come back to now.
Body of the Ritual- the Maypole
“In the spirit of Spider Women, who wove the earth and the universe, we weave this maypole of women’s desires come
true at Beltane. Dance the Maypole for beauty of the earth, the Goddess and of women. Weave the Maypole to make
all wishes come true.”
Raising the cone- When the Maypole is wound to the bottom, the women go to the Beltane fire. Each make a wish as she jumps over. Make as many wishes as you want.
