The Change of the Goddess
Invocation- The high priestess talks about the Sabbat, what it is and what it means and reads the following
invocation: “This is the night of Candlemas, the night of poetry and inspiration when women make their vows to
the goddess. This is the night to chose who you are name who you are and become one with the Mother. Choose only
in perfect love and perfect trust” Body of ritual-
Light a white candle and say: “I am (name), daughter of (mother’s name). I am a woman and a witch. I dedicate my
self to the Mother Goddess as a (healer, writer, teacher, musician, singer, poet, priestess, etc.) I pledge myself
to ________” Place the candle on the altar. Light the gold candle and say: “I choose (name) as my craft name and
(Goddess) as my mother Goddess because ___________(Describe qualities to add to her life that are a part of the
Goddess named)” hold the candle “ I invite ( Goddess name) presence and blessing into this circle and into my life.
I ask her help and guidance” “I invite myself a woman and a witch. I dedicate myself to (Goddess name) and (quality).”
Self-blessing- “I dedicate myself to the Goddess who is the Goddess within. I initiate myself as a woman” Use the mirror draped in cloth, a pic of the Goddess to pass around
Raise power- songs chants, visualize… Visualize what being a woman and a witch means. See how you are changed now. See yourself strong, fulfilled, and having pupose in your life. See yourself having all desire. Send the image out. Feel it return like the light of fireworks. Feel the light within. Draw it in. It is done.
